------- Additional Comments From chris.stone@gmail.com 2006-06-09 14:39 EST -------
Whats this? : "/usr/lib/libosgdb_osgAL.so"
when you write an osg plugin (nodekit), you have two parts: the library that implements the nodekit libosgal.so, and you also have a osgDB binding that allows it to be associated to a file extension (roughly) libosgdb_osgAL.so.
What does the -version-info 1:0:0 in osgal-cvs-debian-01.dpatch do?
version-info is temporary, the next osgal version will have proper soname versioning because I discussed it with the upstream and he understands why it's necessary

Ah i read gdb as dbg from debug, so I thought it might be a special debug build, which is ofcouse not good, as we have -debuginfo for that.

------- Additional Comments From chris.stone@gmail.com 2006-06-12 03:09 EST ------- Just to let you know, I havn't closed this bug yet due to some extremely bizarre buildsys error which is causing build failers on FC5 i386/ppc platforms. The root.log indicates that libXext is not being installed even though libXxf86vm is being installed. I cannot explain why the error occurs.

------- Additional Comments From j.w.r.degoede@hhs.nl 2006-06-12 03:15 EST ------- Ah,
I hit the same but only on FC-5 I thought it as an FC-5 dep error, I fixed it by explicitly requiring libXext, but I see that was a bit hackish of me now.
