I recently got the the response during a fedpkg mockbuild (that used to work). How should I proceed ?

I can see you build a Fedora 41 package in Fedora Rawhide mock environment on Fedora 39 system.

Observe the double Fedora 40 key. I guees your mock thinks that Rawhide is Fedora 40 instead of 41. What version has mock-core-configs package on your system? I have mock-core-configs-40.1-1.fc39.noarch built on 2024-02-14 and "fedpk mockbuild" works for me fine:

Another possible cause could be that you have a cached bootstrap image with Rawhide which predates a Rawhide switch to Fedora 41. Try cleaning the mock cache with "mock -r /etc/mock/fedora-rawhide-x86_64.cfg --scrub=all" command.

I did an dnf update, and then dnf info | grep mock-core-configs and got Name : mock-core-configs Source : mock-core-configs-39.4-1.fc39.src.rpm
I cleaned out my mock temporary directories:
Remove /var/lib/mock/centos-stream+epel-9-x86_64 [n/y] ?y sudo rm -rf /var/lib/mock/centos-stream+epel-9-x86_64 [sudo] password for bradbell: Remove /var/lib/mock/centos-stream+epel-9-x86_64-bootstrap [n/y] ?y sudo rm -rf /var/lib/mock/centos-stream+epel-9-x86_64-bootstrap Remove /var/lib/mock/fedora-38-x86_64 [n/y] ?y sudo rm -rf /var/lib/mock/fedora-38-x86_64 Remove /var/lib/mock/fedora-38-x86_64-bootstrap [n/y] ?y sudo rm -rf /var/lib/mock/fedora-38-x86_64-bootstrap Remove /var/lib/mock/fedora-rawhide-i686 [n/y] ?y sudo rm -rf /var/lib/mock/fedora-rawhide-i686 Remove /var/lib/mock/fedora-rawhide-i686-bootstrap [n/y] ?y sudo rm -rf /var/lib/mock/fedora-rawhide-i686-bootstrap Remove /var/lib/mock/fedora-rawhide-x86_64 [n/y] ?y sudo rm -rf /var/lib/mock/fedora-rawhide-x86_64 Remove /var/lib/mock/fedora-rawhide-x86_64-bootstrap [n/y] ?y sudo rm -rf /var/lib/mock/fedora-rawhide-x86_64-bootstrap
I also did mock -r /etc/mock/fedora-rawhide-x86_64.cfg --scrub=al
The command fedpkg mockbuild has the same error.
It seems link my system cannot see the update to mock-core-configs and is indeed confused about which version is rawhide and the fedpkg mockbuild

You need mock-core-configs-40.1-1.fc39.noarch which you could have gotten from updates-testing. Might be in stable now.
Michael
It is in stable now and updating mock-core-configs worked this time: cppad>dnf info | grep mock-core-configs Name : mock-core-configs Source : mock-core-configs-40.1-1.fc39.src.rpm
mock for rawhide is again working on my system. Thanks
