Hello, I have received the following bug report: "Unable to install php-Smarty with the php53 components" https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=700179
Is there an official way of dealing with this or would we have to create parallel php53 versions of all packages for EPEL?
Cheers, Christof

Hello, I have received the following bug report: "Unable to install php-Smarty with the php53 components" https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=700179
Same issue here https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=695708
The problem is that both php-common and php53-common provides the same "virtual provides" (php-zip)
I don't see a clean answser.
If php53-common switch to provide php53-zip, it will be unusable for application which requires php-zip (or we'll have to make 2 packages for each app)
And php53-common don't provides php-common (which could be an issue for some others dependencies)
The only solution I see, is to "exclude php53*" (or to install it)
