Hi all,
before asking the installer team about making the changes, I would like
to gather in what cases the PReP partition can be omitted and where it
must stay. The main reason why I ask is to be able to unify kickstart
files for automated installations, cloud image creation, etc across
architectures/platforms.
Am I right that the PReP partition can be omitted only on "PowerNV"
(bare metal) machines (OpenPOWER and IBM Linux-only machines)? Do all
other cases like KVM qemu guests (reports as "CHRP IBM pSeries
(emulated by qemu)"), PowerVM guests still need it?

Hello Dan, sorry for late comment.
May be interesting for others to comment on already related bug (1), I
did not saw an answer in this ML.
FYI the openSUSE implemented the change for PowerNV as per (2)
