Hi all,
I had a talk with the lead mariadb maintainer yesterday trying to get
us out of the current situation with various tests randomly failing
during the mariadb 10.1.x builds and we should have a plan now:
- run only the basic part of the test-suite in %check, it helps
reducing the build times in general
- run the full test-suite in separate environment - CI?, only limited
arches?
- watch the results of the basic test-suite across all arches
- make the failures on alt-arches non-fatal (if needed with the reduced
set)
- try to investigate and fix the failures, from previous experience
it should be the test-suite what's broken
Looks pretty sure some of the failures we see are affected by the
general kernel threading/resource exhaustion issue (tracked elsewhere),
but the plan should make our builds easier anyway. The test-suite is
fragile in general, because even primary builds often take more build
attempts for a successful build ...
