RHEL 5.2 respin problem
by mark.parry@orange-ftgroup.com
Hi all,
I'm looking for some help in configuring a Live CD for RHEL 5.2, which I
intend to use as a bare metal restore tool. I've built and patched a Fedora
Core 9 host, installed the latest revisor from git and have happily
configured a RHEL 5 repository in yum.
The CD build goes very well and spits out an ISO happily, however when I boot
it, I get the following errors:
mount: could not find filestystem '/dev/root'.
setuproot: moving /dev failed: No such file or directory
setuproot: error mounting /proc: No such file or directory
setuproot: error mounting /sys: No such file or directory
switchroot: mount failed: No such file or directory
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init
I've seen some posts that allude to the problem being mkinitrd related
(perhaps needing additional modules), but I'm not sure if this is correct,
and if it is how I can go about injecting those modules into the live CD
build.
I'd be really grateful for any perspective anyone has on this since revisor
looks like just the tool for the job.
Thanks,
Mark Parry
