Hello everyone,
the work on Fedora/s390x is a never-ending story, so I would like to
give you a status update where we stand after the primary Fedora has
released beta of F-15.
Regarding packages we are in a bit better shape we were in F-14, but the
process of fixing the package (or excluding them from s390x) is not as
fast as we would wish and always a new breakages appear in packages
whose previous versions were built successfully.
We have installation images that should match the content of the beta
release in primary Fedora, but some issues during and after the
installation that block further testing (some can be workarounded) were
discovered and documented (thanks goes to Jan Stodola from RHEL release
testing team).
here is the list of opened bugzillas:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=696997 (dracut, blocker,
fixed)
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=696164 (anaconda)
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=694518 (lorax, fixed)
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=694499 (anaconda)
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=693764 (anaconda)
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=641986 (NetworkManager,
affects Hercules users)
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=619005 (anaconda)
and https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=467765 is the tracker
bug
The plan is to build 400+ packages that were updated in primary Fedora
during the beta freeze and prepare new images that will contain fixes
for (some of) the bugs above. When there are no big usability
limitations they will be uploaded to secondary.fp.o for public testing.
