Federa 35 Server default editor
by Peter Boy
In Fedora 34 the default editor was nano, for Workstation and also for Server. In my latest default F35 Server installation I noticed vim-default-editor was installed.
Did some good soul take pity and bring vim back to us or did something go wrong with my installation?

KVM does not start following the instructions in Fedora Server
Documentation
by John W. Himpel
All,
I am following the instructions found at:
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fedora-server/virtualization/vm-inst...
I have found what I believe is a typo in the provided example in the
documentation:
[…]# wget
https://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/releases/37/Server/x8...
s/b
[…]# wget
https://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/releases/37/Server/x8...
Also, the current image that I found was for version 37-1.7 not 37 (I
could not find a version 37).
When I attempted to install the custom.qcow2 image, fedora37 is not
currently found as an acceptable --os-variant (The osinfo-query os
command hasn't been updated yet). So I tried fedora36 and fedora-
unknown, neither one changed the results described below.
When I made the above changes, I ran the virt-install script. It
starts and outputs the following:
Starting install...
Creating domain... | 0 B
00:00
Running text console command: virsh --connect qemu:///system console
testFedora
Connected to domain 'testFedora'
Escape character is ^] (Ctrl + ])
At this point the shell script hangs. virt-manager shows the vm has
been created and is running, but the boot process seems to not have
started. I can use the spice protocol in virt-manager to open a
console to the vm, but the console shows no activity and seems
unresponsive.
If I hit <enter> in the shell or inside virt-manager nothing happens.
Or if if enter the escape character inside the shell or inside virt-
manager, nothing happens.
Has anyone successfully tried this documented procedure with the G/A
release of Fedora Server?

F37 rc 1.6 - different kernel versions for Server DVD and net
install?
by Peter Boy
I just tested installation of the various Fedora Server Edition installation media as of F37 rc 1.6.
Arm image, Server KVM image and Server standard install (DVD) installed kernel 6.0.6-300.fc37. Only net install installed kernel 5.19.16-301.fc37 (which was installed by rc 1.4 or 1.5 if I remember correctly). A check of the installation file resulted „ok“.
Is there a particular reason? Or I am the only one?
And netinstall doesn’t preselect the correct download source anymore, but asked to "Confirm Selection“ and complained about "Error setting up base repository“ (local media is preselected which doesn’t include it, of course)
It is easy to correct, but not as comfortable as it used to be, and not as it should be according to our quality item list. Is there a chance to correct the net installation medium?
