Federa 35 Server default editor
by Peter Boy
In Fedora 34 the default editor was nano, for Workstation and also for Server. In my latest default F35 Server installation I noticed vim-default-editor was installed.
Did some good soul take pity and bring vim back to us or did something go wrong with my installation?
Best

Fedora Server Website Header Graphic Updated - Take 2
by mowest
Below you will find the link to the thread where you will see the latest
blender render for our new website header image. I believe Emma Kidney is
on the right track following the feedback I have received from the Server
WG so far.
She is going with the concept of picturing an actual hardware server which
many of you liked the idea of instead of going with more abstract concepts.
She rendered a small rack of server hardware in the hopes of hitting the
target users being small to medium businesses. She has also taken into
consideration the decreasing the orange color that is part of the color
palette for Fedora Server. You can see that is is muted by being part of
the gradient of the background and a few of the buttons on the server rack.
The rest of the colors are coming from the Fedora Marketing Teams chosen
color pallet which they try to use to give a consistent look to all media
that comes out about Fedora and its editions.
I'm very happy with Emma's work, she is going to play around a little more
with the colors and the textures in the graphic, but she is hoping that
this is heading in the right direction. Please share your comments with the
entire server mailing list. I will get your feedback back to Emma in the
next few days.

I sent a message previously that had the header graphic attached, but this
caused my message to be moderated since it was over 40kb, so you will have
to use the link above instead to see the image. Scroll down to Emma's last
message.

Fedora Server Webpage Graphic Elements Update
by mowest
Emma Kidney has done some great design work on two different concepts for
the header image of our future Fedora Server page. I'm very excited by her
creative work, and I think she has come up with some unique ideas /
concepts to greatly improve our new Fedora Server page compared to our
current Fedora Server page on getfedora.org/server.
I really need your feedback to see if you would like to push forward with
one of the concepts that Emma has put together. If you go to the demo site
that is located here:
https://fedora.gitlab.io/websites-apps/fedora-websites/fedora-websites-3.0/
You will see in the above site examples of the concepts that the other
Fedora Editions are using. Workstation looks like a working laptop. IoT has
SBC's. Cloud has hot air balloons above a cloud. CoreOS has a neat ball cut
open showing gears inside. Personally, I really like "Cloud" and "CoreOS"
concept art direction, and would like to see something similar for Fedora
Server. Emma has created two possible concepts, both appeal to me in
different ways, but I want Server WG to give their input. You can see my
ongoing conversation with Niko and Emma and the concept art at this page:
https://gitlab.com/fedora/design/team/wwwfpo-2022/-/issues/23
Please scroll to the last three messages, the two from Emma which includes
the concept art of 1. a notebook and 2. building blocks. My comments about
both of them along with some wording changes that were suggested by the
Server WG at our last meeting are in the last message from me.
Finally, please include your thoughts, impressions, suggestions for
improvements as replies to this email thread so we can keep our whole
discussion on the mailing list where everyone in Server WG can see it.
Thank you.
