Agreed. Note that I use midori in the LXDE spin.

Also agreed. Ether both or none. I'd say both and consider Midori and
Parole tech previews.
But IMO the situation is a little different: Modiri is not yet complete,
it lacks important features like cache (yes, really) and wont work with
a couple of well known websites. Parole already offers a lot of
functionality, more than Totem I think (e.g. tagging, controls for
brightness, contrast, hue and saturation). The killer feature it lacks
is a browser plugin.
As for adding applications, I'm all for utilizing the free space
we have.
