How do I handle a method with element that has 1 or more repititions ?

I am trying to add multiple group members : the wsdl structure is a complex type that looks like this, where the wsdl call accepts 1 or more members. Is there any way to create an array of members ?

I've found a number of methods that don't work :
1 : creating empty list-using factory to create member and append to list : result : suds.WebFault: Server raised fault: '[Server CodecHandler] Failed to decode
-> Found more elements in the soap envelope than required by WSDL
2 : used factory to create member and then attempted to append member : result : Traceback (most recent call last):

The client timeout value seems to have a 180 second maximum.

I've been working on getting around the timeout problem I posted earlier. I
thought that my problem was due to using Python 2.4. I've since done some
testing with Python 2.7 and PyPy 1.6. Both of them have the same behavior.
Here's the scenario. I run this line to create the client;
client = Client(wsdl)
I set up the filters to the service that I'm calling so that it will
retrieve a large amount of data. When I run the service it times out after
90 seconds. Next I try creating the client by adding a timeout value.
client = Client(wsdl, timeout=120)
Now the service times out after about 120 seconds. Finally I try this;
client = Client(wsdl, timeout=240)
The service times out at 180 seconds. It doesn't matter what timeout value
I use. Anything above 180 is the same.
I tried setting the default socket value to a large number like this;
import socket
socket.setdefaulttimeout(240)
After that can look at the socket.getdefaulttimeout() and verify that it's
set to 240. I tried that and then tried to create the client again without
setting the timeout. According to the documentation, not setting the
timeout causes it to use the global default but even if the global default
is 240, the suds timeout is 90.
Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Timeout value doesn''t seem to be working - correction

I've got to apologize and correct some misinformation from my previous
post. I had given up on SUDS and tried to switch to a different library. I
didn't have much luck with that either. I decided that since I had the
source code, I'd try to trace down the "timeout bug" myself. It turns out I
owe the creators an apology. First, the timeout value should work on any of
the supported versions of Python, not just 2.6 and above. In stepping
through the code I found a section that checks for the python version number
and then either uses the urllib2 timeout value or sets the socket default
timeout.
I found the real problem. In stepping through the code I got a different
error message saying the the M7BROKER timed out after 180 seconds. I
Googled that and the only references are to either MS Query or JDBC. In
other words the "bug" is on the server side. I should have figured that out
earlier since the server program is also new. I don't have access to it at
all but it was replacing a SAP program that would download the data. That
SAP program didn't have a timeout problem so I assumed that the web service
wouldn't either.
If I had seen that error message I would have probably figured out the
problem a lot sooner. I don't know if it was buried in the log and I just
didn't see it or if SUDS translated it into a generic timeout message. I
tried running it again to see but they fixed the problem on the server so
I'm not getting the timeout message anymore.
Anyway, thanks to the SUDS creators and maintainers. Sorry for wasting
anyone's time.

Is suds still maintained?

I just hit a bug today while writing some threaded code that uses suds
and I see that a bug report was already filed
(https://fedorahosted.org/suds/ticket/331) over a year ago. The .41
release looks to be about 8 months over due; is it time to migrate my
project to something else?

Never mind. It turns out the timeout value only works if it's supported by
urllib2. They didn't add that support until Python 2.6 and I'm running on
Python 2.4.
I found something that said that on Python 2.4 you could set the socket
default timeout like this;

I tried that but it didn't work either. Sigh….
