The first part may fail if you configure a virtual GPU without
3d-acceleration (it was confirmed to fail with VMware or VirtualBox in

Years ago I used to create VMs from ks scripts but I have gotten lazy over the years and have just been using virt-manager when necessary for a long time now. I am guessing there are config options to get virt-manager to work but I won't have time to look at that for a while . .

I tried that version too - same result - I get a Live User prompt for a
password - whether entering something or just hitting ENTER just redraws
the login prompt.
