2011-02-11 @ 17:00 UTC - F15 Alpha Blocker bug review meeting
by James Laska
# F15-Alpha Blocker Review meeting
# Date: 2011-02-11
# Time: 17:00 UTC (12:00 EDT, 09:00 PDT) [1]
# Location: #fedora-bugzappers on irc.freenode.net
Here are the current bugs listed as blocking the Alpha release of Fedora
15. We'll be discussing all of these to determine if they meet the
Alpha release criteria [2], should stay on the list, and are getting the
attention they need.
== Suggested Meeting Preparation ==
If you are the OWNER of one of these bugs, PLEASE add a comment to the
bug letting us know how things are going and what you are planning to do
next.
If your bug is in MODIFIED, please make sure a build has been submitted.
If that's already happened, please change the bug to ON_QA so we can
start test verification. Note, that once the release is branched [3],
bodhi updates will also be required.
If you REPORTED a bug, please be responsive to any requests for
additional information.

GNOME 3 Test Day #1 recap
by Adam Williamson
The first GNOME 3 Test Day took place on 2011-02-03 and went very well,
thanks
a lot to everyone who took the time to help out with testing!
Just preparing images for the test day exposed some important bugs to
be fixed,
and the event itself exposed many more. We had 56 tests run by slightly
fewer
testers (many thanks to those who tested multiple machines!) and the
list of
reported bugs looks like this:
Fedora Bugzilla

and time displayed in D-T
675842 NEW - Starting totem in Gnome 3 crashes kernel
675013 NEW - totem do not start playing video until close firefox

killed by signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
674877 NEW - gpk-distro-upgrade: warning dialog doesn't close by close

641454 gnome-shell RESO NOTA Dash always adds application as
favorite on reordering
Many of these bugs could benefit from triage, so if Bugzappers have
time to
work on that, it would be great. As you can see, several bugs have
already
been fixed, and many more remain to be worked on.
We have some other bits of analysis to do, particularly about which
systems hit the fallback path and how it worked for those systems,
which I'll work on later. For now, thanks again to everyone who came
to test, and to the desktop team for all their hard work helping
prepare the stack for testing and helping out on the Test Day.

Fedora GNOME 3 Test Day #1 coming up tomorrow
by Adam Williamson
QA and Desktop teams are running three Test Days to test out GNOME 3
ahead of F15 (and GNOME 3.0) releases, and the first is tomorrow!
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2011-02-03_GNOME3_Alpha
Please come along and help test - there will be live images so you won't
need a Rawhide installation, the testing will be easy, and you don't
have to do every single test - you can help out even with ten or fifteen
minutes (plus the time to download and burn an image). Please note that
right now the wiki page is in considerable flux - I have to write a
whole bunch of test cases which aren't up there yet - and desktop team
are in the middle of trying to land GNOME 2.91.6 in Rawhide, so please
hold off on testing for now, we should have everything in order by
tomorrow morning. If you're busy tomorrow, you can certainly come by and
do the tests later - all you'll miss is the IRC communication, but you
can do all the testing based on the Wiki page. IRC channel is
#fedora-test-day on Freenode. Please grab me if you have any questions
or suggestions! Thanks everyone.
