# F39 Blocker Review meeting
# Date: 2023-10-16
# Time: 16:00 UTC
# Location: #fedora-blocker-review on irc.libera.chat (*NOT* Matrix)
Hi folks! We have 1 proposed Final blocker and 1 proposed Final freeze
exception issue to review, so let's have a meeting on Monday.
The meeting will on IRC only due to the ongoing lack of a Matrix <->
IRC bridge and a meeting bot on the Matrix side. If you no longer have
an IRC setup you can join via webIRC: https://web.libera.chat/ , enter
a nickname and put #fedora-blocker-review in the Channel box.
If you have time this weekend, you can take a look at the proposed or
accepted blockers before the meeting - the full lists can be found
here: https://qa.fedoraproject.org/blockerbugs/ .
Remember, you can also now vote on bugs outside of review meetings! If
you look at the bug list in the blockerbugs app, you'll see links
labeled "Vote!" next to all proposed blockers and freeze exceptions.
Those links take you to tickets where you can vote.
https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/blocker-review has instructions on how
exactly you do it. We usually go through the tickets shortly before the
meeting and apply any clear votes, so the meeting will just cover bugs
where there wasn't a clear outcome in the ticket voting yet. **THIS
MEANS IF YOU VOTE NOW, THE MEETING WILL BE SHORTER!**
We'll be evaluating these bugs to see if they violate any of the
Release Criteria and warrant the blocking of a release if they're not
fixed. Information on the release criteria for F39 can be found on the
wiki [0].

works - or how it's supposed to go and you want to run one - check out
the SOP on the wiki:

Have a good weekend and see you on Monday!

Please help complete validation testing for current Fedora 39 candidate nightly!
by Adam Williamson
Hey folks! You probably saw the mail "Fedora 39 Branched 20231010.n.0
nightly compose nominated for testing" today. Although we still don't
have an RC for the Fedora 39 Final release, I want to ask folks to
please help us fill out the matrices for this candidate as much as
possible. It's best if we find any remaining blocker bugs *now*, not
wait for an RC before doing the full testing.
You can use testcase_stats to see what test cases probably need running
- https://openqa.fedoraproject.org/testcase_stats/39/ . The pages there
shows the execution history and last run date for each test on the
corresponding matrix page, so you can see at a glance which tests
haven't been run recently or at all. Please focus on tests marked
Basic, Beta or Final that have not yet been run, or not been run for
some time. And of course, if you find a significant bug, mark the test
as a failure, file a bug, and nominate it as a release blocker.
Thanks a lot folks!

Fedora 39 Upgrade Test Day is underway!
by Sumantro Mukherjee
Hey All,
As we come closer to Fedora 39 release dates, it's time to test upgrades.
Fedora 39 has a lot of changesets and it becomes essential that we
test the graphical upgrade methods as well as the command line.
As a part of this test day[0], we will test upgrading from a full
updated, F37 and F38 to the F39 for all architectures(x86_64,ARM,aarch
64) and variants(WS,cloud,server,silverblue,IoT).
We understand that upgrade takes time and testing if things work as
expected, takes more.
We will be accepting results throughout the weekend!
The results can be submitted here[1]
As usual, we hang out on the #fedora-test-day, should you have questions.
