Hi,
I've just installed jack and have run artsd -A, but it isn't showing
that jack is a valid output. This is a bit of a pain as I need to record
a skype interview and from what I can see, jack and arts is the way to
go.
If I try artsd -f, all I get is
unix_connect: can't connect to server
(unix:/tmp/ksocket-root/T7.linux-5f69-43614208)
Error while initializing the sound driver:
device: default can't be opened for playback (No such device)
The sound server will continue, using the null output device.
How do I get artsd to behave and see jack or do I need to do a recompile
of arts to get it recognised?
TTFN

I have installed FC4 on a Old Dell Optiplaex Pentium
II desktop, it detected everything including the
on-board sound card as chip #CS4236C as an unknown
device but no sound. I have found out that the chip
number on that PC actually is: CS4235.
Any help will be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Alamgir

Product : Fedora Core 4
Name : selinux-policy-targeted
Version : 1.27.1
Release : 2.10

Security-enhanced Linux is a patch of the Linux® kernel and a number
of utilities with enhanced security functionality designed to add
