Mouse Wheel gone
by Christian Menzel
Since the latest xorg-X11 upgrade I receive the already mentioned XKB
error and the mouse wheel is not working anymore.
Has anybody seen this behavior?

I have the same symptoms...
rpcinfo says that nfs et.al. are running.
Something has changed in test 2, since the same PC running RH9
accesses that host just fine.

Will ext4 be in FC7?
by Justin Conover
With experimental release of EXT4 in 2.6.19, is it possible it will be in
rawhide soon and in FC7 at release time?
Thanks,

Mono
by Paul F. Johnson
Hi,
In case it was missed, Mono 1.2.1 was released a couple of days back.
I'm building it here so I can update my unofficial FC build site, but
I'd really love to see it in rawhide along with the other updates.
The 1.2.x branch has an absolute tonne of fixes applied and has a huge
speed increase over the 1.1.xx branches - you will hardly believe it
when you see it; it's like what happened with OOo and it's speed hike a
short while back.
Any chances of this happening any time soon? I'm happy if the RH
engineers want to just use mine to save time...

- Removed explicit run-time spec-file requirement on mozilla.
The Mozilla NSS API/ABI stabilised by version 1.7.3
The libraries are always located in the libdir
However, the headers are in /usr/include/mozilla-%{mozilla_build_version}
and so they move each time the mozilla version changes.
So we no longer have an explicit mozilla run-time requirement in the specfile;
a requirement on the appropriate NSS and NSPR .so files is automagically generated on build.
We have an explicit, exact build-time version, so that we can find the headers (without
invoking an RPM query from the spec file; to do so is considered bad practice)

- Added patch to fix usage of GINT_TO_POINTER/GPOINTER_TO_INT for calendar backend GType hash table, breaking on ia64 (#136914)
* Wed Oct 20 2004 David Malcolm <dmalcolm(a)redhat.com> - 1.0.2-3
- added workaround for a backend leak that causes the "contacts" calendar
backend to hold open an EBook for the local contacts (filed upstream at:
http://bugzilla.ximian.com/show_bug.cgi?id=68533 ); this was causing e-d-s to
never lose its last addressbook, and hence never quit. We workaround this by
detecting this condition and exiting when it occurs, fixing bug #134851 and #134849.

Easy fedora???
by Frank S.
Why don't you create an easy ferdora like (easy ubuntu)or a feora mint (linux mint) for people new to linux. please do not get me wrong I love Fedora but to make it usable is a lot of work and I would never recomed to a friend because I would slave myself to his dektop.
people NEED a dirty Fedora as you would call it. they will call it a usable OS.
thank you so very much for your hard work!!

[SECURITY] Fedora Core 5 Test Update: openldap-2.3.30-1.fc5
by Jay Fenlason
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Fedora Test Update Notification
FEDORA-2006-1356
2006-11-30
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Product : Fedora Core 5
Name : openldap
Version : 2.3.30
Release : 1.fc5
Summary : The configuration files, libraries, and documentation for OpenLDAP.
Description :
OpenLDAP is an open source suite of LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access
Protocol) applications and development tools. LDAP is a set of
protocols for accessing directory services (usually phone book style
information, but other information is possible) over the Internet,
similar to the way DNS (Domain Name System) information is propagated
over the Internet. The openldap package contains configuration files,
libraries, and documentation for OpenLDAP.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
Because the upgrade scriptlets in the previous
openldap-servers rpm are broken, you will need to use extra
care when installing this update. Before you begin the
upgrade, you should make a copy of all the files in
your /var/lib/ldap directory. After the upgrade, you
should clear out any files left in that directory by the
upgrade process, and restore your original files.
Upgrades from 2.3.30-1.fc5 to a later version will not have
this problem.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
* Fri Nov 17 2006 Jay Fenlason <fenlason(a)redhat.com> 2.3.30-1.fc5
- New upstream release
- Backport fixes from rawhide for
bz#185821: adding slapd_multimaster to the configure options
bz#190383: openldap 2.3 packages contain the administrator's guide for 2.2
bz#204593: service ldap fails after having added entries to ldap
bz#199322: RFE: perform cleanup in ldap.init
- Include the gethostbyname_r patch
- include the correct guide.html
- Fix the upgrade logic, so that upgrades from 2.3.30 to newer versions
won't leave junk in /var/lib/ldap if it was empty, and correctly
generates/uses the upgrade.ldif file otherwise. Note that upgrades *to*
2.3.30 will have to be done carefully, because the half of the upgrade
logic in the 2.3.19-4 rpms is broken, and will mess up the upgrade.

Has anyone tested this with xorg 7.1? What driver would it use? How does
it compare to <whatever> ;)
Looking at getting another desktop system and deciding between that and
nvidia.
