Nautilus didn't update during FC5->rawhide/FC6 transition.
by G.Wolfe Woodbury
Install report for 27 Aug 2006
First: xorg.conf had a frame buffer driver configured (thanks for the previous report!)
Had to edit xorg.conf to re-enable the trident driver.
2: nautilus didn't get upgraded in the update, and fc5 nautilus doesn't like the fc6
gtk libraries. BZ bug 204264 filed.
3: s-c-display still can't generate a proper 2 head display setup.
Plan:
will attempt to use yum to update the nautilus component and see if GNOME
returns to operational status. (Have to use KDE in the meantime!)

Crashing machine with hibernate
by Robert M. Albrecht
Hi,
I installed fc6test2 on my desktop PC and yummed it to todays Rawhide.
When trying to hibernate (in German it's called Ruhezustand) the machine
the system simply crashes. No network anymore, the screen goes blank, no
response to keyboard, power button, whatever. The system does not power off.
The system is a standard PC with an AMD AthlonXP and an Asus A7N8X
mainboard.
How does one debug those problems ? Could be anywhere, kernel, Bios,
driver, ... /var/log/messages did not reveal any usefull informations
(after coldstarting the system).

FC6T2 on VMware and VMwareTools-5.5.2
by Magnus Larsson
Anyone managed to compile the latest VMwareTools on latest VMware
workstation?
It worked fine on FC5, but now I get compiler errors with
kernel-2.6.17-1.2586.fc6.
(It has failed on all FC6T2 not just the latest kernel...)
Any ideas?

Logwatch and rawhide
by Anne Wilson
I have two FC4 boxes that send emails redirected to me, with the From: field
in the form logwatch(a)hostname.domain.tld. I did not have to do anything at
all to config files for this to be correctly set.
My rawhide installation by default sends the message as originating from
logwatch(a)localhost.localdomain. Is this a bug, or intentional behaviour?
I have forced the domain part to be replaced by putting an explicit line
in /etc/postfix/main.cf, but cannot get the hostname to be reported. Clearly
getting reports from several boxes without the identifier would be less than
useful.
