bash-completion crashing
by Ben Gamari
Hey all,
Has anyone running Rawhide noticed that bash-completion now causes
bash to frequently segfault when doing a completion? This behavior
began in my case after today's round of updates (which didn't actually
update bash-completion) but removing bash-completion prevents the
crashes. Below is a backtrace of said crash. It seems that
bash-completion doesn't have its own component in bugzilla. Would bash
be an appropriate place to file this? Thanks,
- Ben
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

Triage goals
by Christopher Beland
After discussion at today's meeting, I have redirected
[[BugZappers/Goals]] to:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/components
The official goal is now to stabilize the number of NEW bugs for each
key component. Counts from today have been copied into that page on
the wiki, and there's a preformatted query from which you can get the
current count.
I also threw in "all NEW bugs filed against EOL versions should be
closed" as a complementary goal, with a pre-formatted query for that
as well.

Fedora Test Day - CrashCatcher
by James Laska
Greetings testers,
This week's Test Day will focus on a very cool feature for Fedora 11 ...
CrashCatcher. As noted in the feature page [1],
"it collects necessary data about the crash, generates a report
with all information and based on user interaction sends it to
some bug reporting system."
Developers Zdenek Prikryl and Jiri Moskovcak will be available for
discussion+guidance. In addition, both Martin Koci and Radek Biba will
help drive testing for the event.
Please join #fedora-qa this Thursday, February 26, 2009 to get an early
preview of crash-catcher and help shake out as many bugs as possible.
Follow the action at
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA/Test_Days/2009-02-26.
Thanks,
James

F11: X starts at wrong resolution
by sean darcy
Just installed i386 F11 from alpha .iso on hp laptop, then did yum upgrade.
Each time X starts at 800x600. xrandr shows the preferred resolution as
1280x800.
I use xrandr to change to preferred, but how can I set X to start at
1280 x 800? does this require a modeline after all these years?

bugs or features? GDM in rawhide
by Clyde E. Kunkel
Hi,
On a GDM timed automatic login, hitting return restarts the sequence
instead of cutting the timing loop short and logging you in. Bug or
feature? I see from Jan 23, 2009,
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=481364 but there isn't any
response to the reporter.
On a logout and log back in with GDM, automatic login is not available.
Bug or feature?
Thanks.

Bug 485618 - Display problems even with "acpi=off nomodeset pci=msi"
by anirudh singh shekhawat
I installed fedora 10 in text mode but the first reboot couldnt log me in ,i.e.
the system did not comeup and the system would only work with these boot
options "acpi=off nomodeset pci=msi" and none of them could be excluded and
once the system is up and running in cli mode, and when did "startx", the
display which came up was slow i.e. the reaction of the mouse pointer and the
opening and closing of applications window was quite slow. But also that the
display worked fine at times, but this was just at sometimes.
My machine has seen successful installation and working of other distros like
ubuntu 8.04 & 8.10 ,opensuse 11 and mandriva 2009.But fedora has experiencing
such problems.
The above problem has also been filed as a bug at
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/485618 , kindly refer and help..
