Noveau?
by Chuck Forsberg WA7KGX
How do I get Noveau to run? The discussion I can find suggests it
installs automagically. I can't find any obvious indication of
which X server is running.
Except that it isn't the proprietary Nvidia server. The
fan still roars. Desktop effects can't be enabled.
Running a 9600gt pci/e on Intel Core Duo 8500.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll add it to the RandR test case, as it's
part of that functionality in any case.

Introduction
by Gireesh Sreekantan
Hi All,
My request to join the Bugzappers group was approved yesterday by Adam
Williamson. This is my first email to fedora-test-list so let me
introduce myself.
My name is Gireesh Sreekantan. I am working as an UNIX administrator
(Linux, AIX) for the past 2 years. I hold a RHCE and the IBM "P-Series
Specialist" certification. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering
and I am currently pursuing a part-time MBA in Software. I also have
some exposure with ITIL processes for problem resolution as I have to
follow them on my day-job ;-)
I have been using Linux on my desktop for almost 5 years now and on my
laptop[1] since the day I bought it 2 years back. I decided to join
the Bug-zappers team to contribute back to the community and make sure
that things go smooth for others who may try Linux/Fedora.
I am based out of Chennai, India [2] and the Fedora Localization
project (Tamil) is one of the other areas I am looking forward to
contribute in the near future.
Unfortunately, I won't be able be able to join today's bug-zappers
meeting at 15:00 UTC but I will drop in to IRC later and talk to the
team.

Introduction
by Bashir Souid
Hi, today I received an email saying that sending an email to the list may
be a good way to introduce myself.
I am an Computer Engineering student at Syracuse University in New York
State. I have been using linux for several years now on my personal
machines and decided that I want to give something back. I'm also thinking
about being a packager. I work in IT at the University but we only have
Windows XP machines.
I have three machines
1) Dell Mini 9 Netbook
2) Lenovo X200 Laptop
3) Custom Desktop I built myself (Socket 775, Intel E8400 processor, Nvidia
8600GT graphics card)
So the meeting is at 15:00 UTC so I guess that is 10:00 AM in New York.
I'll be at work but i can probably have it open and chat some between times
when my boss walks in.
I'm looking forward to helping. Thanks.

Bugzappers meeting(?) and triage day tomorrow
by Adam Williamson
Hi, guys. Are we having a meeting tomorrow? There are some things to go
over, but we need most people to show up...
Also, meeting or no meeting, tomorrow will of course be Triage Day at
16:00 UTC in #fedora-bugzappers! I've sent invitations to the latest
batch of new applicants to join the group, so hopefully they will show
up. Other than that, we could do some co-ordinated triaging - anyone
have suggestions on areas we could triage? Something important for the
release?
Thanks!
