F24 beta virt-install with kickstart fails
by Jos Vos
Hi,
Did anyone succeed in virt-install'ing F24 beta using kickstart
(on CentOS 6 host, if that matters)?
I see lots of warnings (dracut-initqueue), then the console goes
into a slowly filling bar at the bottom (plymouthd!?), then I see
lots of "No space left on device" errors, then a dracut emergency
shell is started.
The generated rdsosreport.txt contains 34284 lines...
FWIW, when *not* using kickstart I can install F24 beta on the
same system with virt-install fine.
Thx,

We'd like to organize a test day for Modem support.
Fedora 25 is going to include new !ModemManager 1.6 major release and also
updated associated tooling (libqmi, libmbim, usb_modeswitch and
usb_modeswitch-data).
There's a lot of new devices and features supported and some potentially
dangerous changes (removed driver binding hack). Let's make sure we can
support the hardware our users and testers have.
Available for the support will be the !NetworkManager crowd (definitely
me, then perhaps thaller, bgalvani, fguidici and dcbw).
Date: preferrably after the Alpha (we will provide COPR for older releases
too) so that the regular OS images can be used.
Preferably sometime between August 15th and August 30th, 2016
Alternatively after September 6th

A major F24 feature is a
[https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/LUCasPrimaryDownloadable rewrite
of liveusb-creator] which may become the primary download for Workstation
(so instead of an ISO file, you'd get the liveusb-creator app from the
Workstation download page). However, we really haven't done much testing
of it yet and don't know if it's working properly, running on all the
platforms it needs to run on, and has all the features it ought to have.
This would be a great topic for a Test Day. We should co-ordinate with the
developers, Jiri Eischmann and Martin Briza, on this - they're both pretty
familiar with QA so they should be open to working with us. I'll mail them
and ask them to sign up to this ticket.

by Alexander Kolesnikov
Hi all!
I am install Fedora 25 Alpha Workstation with Russian language. In settings
change language to English and log out. After that I can't login into my
users (root and new account). Reopens the login window without errors. But
if I change settings from GNOME to GNOME on Xorg - I can login.

'dnf system-upgrade reboot' doesn't do anything
by Felix Miata
Following the instructions on
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/DNF_system_upgrade
eventually I reached
dnf system-upgrade download --refresh --releasever=25
which apparently completed without error, ending by directing to run
dnf system-upgrade reboot.
So, I did, and it booted normally. Nothing is running that isn't supposed to
be running in a normal boot.
dnf system-upgrade log
reports no logs found. The only dnf string in journalctl -b is starting the
makecache timer. This is not the first time I've tried those wiki page
instructions exactly like this with same result. What's supposed to be
happening that isn't?
