It's time for a Fedora 43 blocker review meeting! We have 1 proposed blocker and 7 proposed freeze exceptions for Beta, and 5 proposed blockers for Final. Self-introduction: Osama Albahrani

Hi All, I have been involved with Fedora QA since 2023 [1], and have opened multiple bug reports in Bugzilla [2], but I just realized I have not introduced myself to the testing group. My name is Osama Albahrani, and as of last month, a recent Computer Science bachelor's degree holder from North Carolina State University. FAS account: osalbahr (to join the group) I have been mostly involved QA testing dual booting macOS and Fedora since Fedora 39, and recently appending testing booting in VirtualBox too (although I personally use UTM, but there is not Testcase for that). I also briefly ran Rawhide, but stopped due to (expected) upgrade issues. I might run Rawhide again in a VM. What I would like to see next in Fedora is again using mactel-boot [3][4], so that we can see, on Intel Macs, the boot option having the Fedora logo and named Fedora. I bisected when the regression happened, which was F39 -> F40. But I don't know how to further investigate the issue and, hopefully, come up with a fix. Hi Neal, It seems you are the maintainer of mactel-boot. Could you please take a look at the following bug reports, and let me know if there is anything I can further do to help? I am interested in helping but I don't know how package maintenance works. Interested in learning. Hello Fedora QA team, my name is Aurélien Lair and my Fedora Account System username is *aurelienlair*. I am very interested in contributing to Fedora QA. I have solid experience in software quality assurance, test automation and continuous integration. Although I have not worked extensively with Fedora, I have significant experience with Debian-based distributions and I am eager to learn Fedora QA workflows and contribute effectively. I would like to participate in testing Fedora releases, creating test cases and helping with bug triaging. Please let me know if there are any recommended first steps or tasks for a new contributor. [rawhide] Intel VMD Sata drive not recognised on recent fc44 kernels, fails to boot

Last kernel that worked was 6.17.0-0.rc0.250730.fc43 on x86_64 Latest kernels 6.17.0-0.rc1.250815.fc44 and 6.17.0-0.rc2.24.250817.fc44 fail to boot. It shows repeated ata7 and ata7.00 messages on console. If I enter BIOS and disable Intel VMD, fedora boots ok with all kernels. When I enable it again, lastest kernels fail to boot, but 6.17.0-0.rc0.250730 does boot. It looks Fedora has troube detecting Intel VMD drives. I have been using Fedora stable and rawhide with VMD for about two years with VMD enabled without any problem, until this time.
