I'm getting this with iproute-2.6.11-1on my Thinkpad. I have to grep the
router out of /var/lib/dhcp/dhclient-eth1.leases and add manually with
route.
My eth1 is my wireless, btw.

This got fixed, if I remember correctly, in an update to NetworkManager.
The problem was that /sbin/ip changed: it used to accept commands like
'ip address'; and update to iproute changed this to only accept
commands like 'ip addr'.
