Hi
I seem always to be in the shop when the last item is sold in front of my nose....
I have not seen a nightly Desktop build in the http://alt.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/nightly-composes/desktop/ since some days. Are they removed after some time or have a max number of downloads - ok I don't even believe that myself.
What happened? There are other builds newly released, but not my flavor.

The GNOME live builds have been failing for a week, see: http://alt.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/nightly-composes/desktop/logs/
Apparently due to broken dependencies:
Error creating Live CD : Failed to build transaction : ibus-rawcode-1.2.0.20090703-4.fc13.i686 requires libibus.so.1 ibus-chewing-1.2.0.20100125-1.fc13.i686 requires libibus.so.1
Spins which don't include the offending packages (such as the KDE spin) succeeded.
The broken dependencies which break the GNOME spin compose should get fixed ASAP.

Thanks for the insight Kevin.

The problem is that they are removed always before a new build is started. If the new build fails, then there is no build to download. Neither the old nor the new one. We have already consulted nirik whether the old build could be removed only after successful new build, which would mean we have always some nightly build available - at least the old one. But there were some difficulties in this approach, we will see in some time.

I've seen talk bout these but never really looked into them or what they were. Now I am curious as I am starting to get into the rawhide mood again. Are these builds (such as the desktop above) the same as a dvd.iso and can be installed that way if you desire to d/l it? And I guess there isn't a boot.iso/netinstall.iso so you have to burn it to dvd and install via that way?

They're live cd/dvd isos.
You can also grab the ks files and build spins locally which is nice if you already have a local rawhide mirror.
The install of live images is a bit different than the normal installs. You have some restrictions on the file system type. And everything that's on the spin gets installed, since it's really a copy rather than a yum install.
