the resulting image has 854MB. We need to blacklist some more packages to get under 700MB. Then we need to submit corrected kickstart to spin- kickstarts project.

It's not a bug, it's a feature. :)
The desktop team is doing this on purpose, the F13 live spins will be 1GB and targeted at USB sticks and DVDs. I believe there may be an intention to also do CD-sized images, but the 'main' live spins will be 1GB.

Thanks for comment, Adam.
I have already done some modification (mainly removing OpenOffice and Java) and reduced the size to 650MB. I think we don't necessarily need those applications on QA Test Day image by default and the benefit of having CD sized image is still there. But in the future we can surely consider making our spin also targeted to 1GB.
