Apparently it is then. That selection was already unselected, and
pressing C-s gets the isearch, yet after ssh to a remote console term
pressing C-s acts as if that box was selected. C-s pauses and C-q
releases.
That's the configuration of the pseudo tty on the remote host. If you
don't like/need start/stop, run "stty -ixon" on the remote host.
(or, on your .bashrc: tty -s && stty -ixon )
