Switching entities back
by Paul W. Frields
We will be reverting entity handling back to the "-e" version. This
will require some additional translation between F7 test4 => F7 Final,
but the work involved should be minimal. I will revert this behavior
*after* the fedora-release-notes package goes to the release engineering
team.
You may find that certain titles or names are not properly translated in
the test4 output for this reason, for example:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=236454
This behavior will be fixed after:
1. The entity handling reverts to "xml2po -e", AND
2. Translators complete the changes to their PO content resulting from
the entity handling change.
I expect to make this change around 16-17 April.
I apologize to the translators for creating this bit of extra work, and
I'll try not to have that happen again. Thanks to everyone for your
efforts and keep up the good work!

libvirt translation
by Thomas Canniot
Hello, I'm translated the new libvirt strings and found "%smark" in
"Failed to %smark domain %s as autostarted" for example.
Can someone tell me what "%smark" means ?
Thanks

New specspo structure
by Martin Bacovsky
Hi,
I'm maintainer of specspo package. I regenerated specspo pot files and slightly changed tree structure.
The process looked like this:
- generate new po catalgue from selected rpm repos (usually
rawhide-nightly)
- commit the changes on ELVIS cvs tree
- translation team hard-work here
- after they commit their changes put everything to tarball and update
specspo on DIST with it
- wait till next release (FC or RHEL) and goto 1
This shows we had currently just one specspo ELVIS upstream for
everything we release. This specspo included everything I decide to
include according to what we are about to release.
Problems:
- it was not possible to regenerate catalogues for recent release. If
package descr or summary changed for recent product we were not able to
do the translation (or at least I didn't know how)
- upstream on ELVIS was not updated, it was recreated from scratch (from
different sources) - this can make possibly troubles to translation team (? - correct me if I am wrong)
- we had one specspo for everything (this could contain a lot of packages
not included in dist).
To solve some of these problems I decided to split current specspo tree into branches like DIST tree is.
So since now it looks like this:
|-- common
|-- RHEL-5
| `-- dist
| |-- desc
| `-- summary
`-- devel
`-- dist
|-- desc
`-- summary
Directory common contains some service scripts. Under RHEL-5 and devel is same structure you are used to.
After release of fc7 I make copy of devel called FC-7.
I am about to improve service scripts so they can post mail to fedora-trans-list if pot files in directory other then devel are changed. (this should by VERY rare).
I hope that than the process remain unchanged for translation team (you just need to keep translation in specspo/devel/ up to date).
If I can do anything that can make your translation of specspo smoother, let me know.
Also any comment or idea would be appreciated.
Regards,
Martin

Help with terms on system-config-printer
by Xavi Conde
Hi, I have some difficulties on finding a translation for the
following terms on system-config-printers
"Punch\n"
"Cover\n"
"Bind\n"
"Saddle stitch\n"
"Edge stitch\n"
"Fold\n"
"Trim\n"
"Bale\n"
"Booklet maker\n"
"Job offset\n"
If somebody can explain what kind of finishing is every one of them it
would help a lot. From definitions I've found on Google they all seem
to be the same...

L10N reminder: Repackage of Fedora-upstream stuff before final and F7T4
by Dimitris Glezos
A quick reminder to maintainers that tonight we've got the translation freeze
date. This means we *guarantee* translators that their contributions committed
by tomorrow will be a part of F7.
Maintainers of packages that get translated through i18n.redhat.com should make
sure they repackage before F7 final (the later the better if new translations
show up). Repackages for T4 as well are a plus, since they give a chance to
non-rawhide testers to report bugs.
The above apply for non-fedora-upstream goodies like `hosted`-hosted and yum.

A bit of away time
by Dimitris Glezos
Hey all.
Just a quick notice to say that for the following 2 months I'll be away from
Fedora and mailing lists due to a pile of work and a ton of upcoming stuff
(thesis writing, big trip, GSoC, blah).
This is done to ensure that after this period I'll still have the little hair
I'm left with. Not that it will do much help, but one can only hope.
I'll try to pop-in every now and then with comments but avoid actual work and
regular updates. For FDSCo, if my presence is needed for a meeting or my opinion
for a matter, you guys just give a shout.
Awaiting to return in full throttle again in the summer with the GSoC project.

Self-Introduction: Ore Landau
by Ore Landau
Hello!
My name is Ore Landau.
I live in Petach Tikwa, Israel.
I'm on my last year of junior high.
I have discovered the magical world of Linux two years ago when a friend of
mine came up with a initiative to install Fedora Terminal Server in our
school's computers. Here's his site: http://edultsp.googlepages.com/
Since then, I have installed and used Debian, Ubuntu, Gentoo and many other.
But in the end, I always come back to fedora J
Only today I have discovered all this new ways to help and contribute to the
Fedora project.
I've always felt that the Hebrew Fedora port was lacking a lot of stuff, and
that's why I'm here.
In the past, I've also helped in translating Gmail to Hebrew.
I'm a C# and C++ programmer and I know how to handle HTML, PHP, Perl and JS
very well.
I also have a great knowledge with MS Windows.
Here is my GPG command output:
[Ore4444@Fedora ~]# gpg --fingerprint ore4444(a)gmail.com

Thank you for reading my application J
Have a good day!
