mango-lassi and service-discovery-applet
by Miloš Komarčević
How do we submit translations for these modules?
They're not in Tx, nor Bugzilla, nor does the maintainer respond to emails.
Can't even see them in Fedora repos, so are they supposed to be in
Fedora DL resources at all?

Re: Revert change
by Micha Pietsch
Hi,
"The translator" figured out the difference between PO and POT very soon after making that mistake. ;-)
Second time "he" will take a closer look on his choice once more before submitting.
Bye for now

update - release-notes module late
by Karsten Wade
Folks:
We are currently a day late with the POT file for the release notes. My
current projection is 0700 UTC 12 October, or one day (31 hours), late.
A combination of late content changes and rewriting is the cause.
However, every string will be touched and edited, reducing the need to
change the strings after the Preview Release.
Reminder:
* This Preview Release translation has a deadline of 21 October.
* At that time we will package every translation, even partially
completed ones.
* You may continue to translate the module after 21 October
* We will do an update of the module and generate the final (GA)
release notes module on 06 November.
* At that time, only translations that are mostly complete will
be included in the release-notes package build. The percentage
complete needed has not been decided yet.
* You may continue to translate the module after 06 November.
* A new POT file is generated on the day of the Fedora 10
release, and translations are updated on
docs.fedoraproject.org/release-notes when each PO files is
completed.
Any questions? Please ask them all!

String freeze break on anaconda
by Dimitris Glezos
(CCing the Fedora Translation group and the Anaconda team)
Hi Chris,
As reflected on the Schedule and announced on fedora-devel-list, Fedora is in
string freeze phase as of 2008-09-11. It seems your project's translation
statistics has changed while in string freeze. An example of a changed string
is "Hostname:", which was introduced in this commit of yours:
http://git.fedorahosted.org/git/anaconda.git?p=anaconda.git;a=commit;h=ce...
Can you please confirm that this is indeed the case or if it's a false alarm?
We've got a string freeze policy which explains what should be done if a
packager would like to break the freeze:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/ReleaseEngineering/StringFreezePolicy
If this is indeed a string freeze break, the translators would like to ask
to follow the protocol for string freezes. It will help us prevent breaks
from happening often and help translators work efficiently and without
surprises. For more information, please refer to the policy and our
Freeze FAQ:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/L10N/Freezes
Please send an email to fedora-trans-list explaining the surprise,
which will hopefully help folks understand the action, and decide
together with the L10n Steering Committee if the changes are
important enough to break the freeze or not.
Thanks.

Unscheduled translate.fedoraproject.org Maintainance
by Asgeir Frimannsson
Hi all,
For the next ~12 hours, translate.fedoraproject.org won't update PO files, as we are in the process of rebuilding the database. This means that in this period you might download PO files that are more than 12 hours old. We are in string-freeze, so there shouldn't be many (if any) changed PO files because of this.
Submitting files through Transifex is not affected.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
cheers,
asgeir

Languages supported in F10-Beta
by Xavi Conde
Hi,
a Catalan user just told me that Catalan was not selectable for
installing by using F10-Beta. I'm investigating it, however could you
explain us which languages are included in Beta/Final releases, and
which is the criteria followed?
Thanks in advance!

Fwd: transifex and PackageKit
by Ville-Pekka Vainio
I've forwarded this message from the fedora-devel mailing list as not every
translator may not be on that list.
Gnome-packagekit isn't mentioned in Richard's mail, but it needs translations
as well. The gnome-packagekit statistics and po files are at:
http://l10n.gnome.org/module/gnome-packagekit
The translations should be submitted via the GNOME translation coordinators of
your language.
The KDE spin may have KPackagekit in Fedora 10, I'm not sure if that's been
decided yet.

Today I released 0.3.7 and pushed it to rawhide. In a couple of weeks
time they'll be a bugfix 0.3.8 release that we'll see in F10 and F9.
Before that time, I would like the translations for PackageKit to be
updated -- updated translations are very important for the F10 release
quality and also for the F9 backport.
You can see the current stats here:

Thanks, and keep rocking,
Richard.

[Bug 455796] New: Tajik Keyboard Layout (Tajik xkb - tj)
by Red Hat Bugzilla
Please do not reply directly to this email. All additional
comments should be made in the comments box of this bug report.
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=455796
Summary: Tajik Keyboard Layout (Tajik xkb - tj)
Product: Fedora Localization
Version: unspecified
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: low
Priority: low
Component: Other language
AssignedTo: dimitris(a)glezos.com
ReportedBy: victor.ibragimov(a)gmail.com
QAContact: aalam(a)redhat.com
CC: fedora-trans-list(a)redhat.com
Description of problem:
There is an official Tajik Standard Keyboard Layout required by the
TojikStandard Organization to be used in software development. The official
keyboard, due to the added 6 characters, does not support important keys such as
_-+= as they are replaced by special characters “ғ” and “ӯ” on Tajik keyboard.
For the translators in Linux a Tajik keyboard was developed to match the Russian
layout and have all the keys available on the keyboard. This unofficial Tajik
keyboard layout use more than one buttons to get a letter with a special sign
for Tajik language and require two key strokes. The existing Tajik xkb in Fedora
is based on unofficial layout.
To meet the requirements/needs for both official and unofficial, the following
layout has been created to resolve the existing (but permanent) Tajik layout issues.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Change the existing Tajik xkb (tj)
Expected results:
