F10 Preview release notes
by Paul W. Frields
I'm working on publishing a preview of the Fedora 10 release notes on
the web. They will appear shortly at:
http://docs.fedoraproject.org/release-notes/
Because we are still trying to get all the content updated for a final
POT/PO drop on November 6, some strings may have changed since
translators last worked on them. I am publishing all current locales
of the release notes regardless.
If you see strings on the web version that you're sure you translated,
but appear in English instead, there may have been a "fuzzy" change.
Remember that you will have until November 13 to complete all release
notes translations for the F10 GA release. The Docs team will build
the RPM for the release on November 14 to deliver to release
engineering.

Python help needed for ngettextizing Yum
by Miloš Komarčević
Hello fellow translators,
I was wondering if there are any among you with Python and I18N
experience who would be willing to help ngettextize Yum, as there are
quite a bit of strings in there that are not at all friendly to
languages other than English/Western languages.
Have made a request a while ago, but looks like we're expected to do
all the hard dev work ;)

P.S. Seriously, this second-class, ad hoc approach to I18N and L10N in
Fedora is getting a bit old...

Subject: Announcing Fedora IRC Classroom Sessions
To: fedora-announce-list(a)redhat.com
Greetings.
I'm happy to announce that next weekend we will be opening up the
#fedora-classroom irc channel (on irc.freenode.net) for some classroom
sessions.
These sessions are intended to be short (30min to an hour) sessions on
the IRC network where you can learn about a specific Fedora related
topic.
Please see:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Communicate/IRC/Classroom
to look at what topics will offered next week, what times they will be
offered, suggest topics or sign up to teach a session yourself!
Hope to see lots of folks there.

appliance in release-notes
by Domingo Becker
What is the meaning of appliance in the context of release-notes ?
release-notes mentions an appliance creation tool, a tool to create
appliance images from a kickstart file.
In this context, it is an installer for me. But, what would be the
right meaning of it?
What is an appliance image used for?
