modules in Transinfex
by Alexander Todorov

Hi all,
I wonder why there are some applications under "Various" rather than Fedora9.
For example virt-manager and virt-inst. Also these two in particular do not
appear under modules (or I can't see them).
Thanks,
Alexander.

String in docs-readme-live-image
by pablo.martin-gomez
Hello everybody,
We are translating the readme-live-image documentation (to french) which
hasn't a component in Bz and there are an incomprehensible string :
"As you explore the the cascading menus on or around the desktop, look
for application programs you may wish to run. In addition, you may wish to
explore other capabilities."
One "the" have to be delete, that's ok (what can we do without Bz ?),
but what "the cascading menus on or around the desktop" mean ? For me, I
just see cascading menus on the panel (around the desktop ?) so why "on
or around" (the right click?) ? Also, in the context, the
word "capabilities" refers to what ?
If somebody have an idea, I will be glad.
Pablo

How to commit to RHEL 5 branch?
by Alexander Todorov
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA512
Hello,
is it possible to commit translations to RHEL5 branch? Or any other?
For most of the modules I see only HEAD or master branch which essentially means
rawhide. Is it possible to update F8 translations for example and they will land
on the user system after the package is updated (e.g. bug fixes).
Thanks.

Updating/merging translations
by Alexander Todorov
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Sending again. Sent to local lang list by mistake.
Hello,
can some msgmerge guru help with the following situation:
I have a RHEL5 po file with untranslated strings which are translated in F8/F9
po files for the same package. How can I grab only the translated stuff (without
the new strings) and merge them with the RHEL5 po file?
Any ideas are welcome before I sit down and start writing a script.
I don't want to copy&paste strings but I'd like to re-use the work done by other
translators.
Thanks,
Alexander.

[RFC] FLP - User Interface Test Cases
by Runa Bhattacharjee
Hello,
In an earlier FLP Meeting on 5th February 2008 [1], a proposal was put forward to create a set of
test-cases that would aid in testing the Translated User Interface, prior to a release. A basic
outline of the proposal would include:
# Identification of the essential packages that would require User Interface testing
# Identifying the testing areas (e.g. translation context, widget length etc.)
# Listing specific and easy-to-follow test-cases for the testing areas, that can be used by the
Translation teams
# Test Result collection mechanism, that would help the Translation teams to share/archive the
information
Since, Quality Testing is a highly specialised domain, we would require inputs from Subject Matter
Experts before a plan can be chalked out. Existing testing mechanisms used by the Translation Teams
can also be listed and based upon inputs we all could determine the feasibility of the proposal.
There was a /L10N/Testing Page listed earlier, but I can't seem to find it. vpv, can you point out
the correct page please, if it still exists somewhere. :-)
Thanks
cheers
Runa

No commit to /cvs/elvis/specspo possible
by Peter Reuschlein
Hi together,
i just tried to commit some changes to the moved elvis specspo (now
located at /cvs/elvis/specspo. But im currently not allowed
[15:10] <mmcgrath> petreu: you're not in the "specspo" group to commit.
[15:10] <petreu> hmm
[15:11] <mmcgrath> technically "cvsspecspo"
Who do i have to sleep with to get access to that group. Or is it
restricted to the transifex system.
Specspo files are pretty big so its much more comfortable to commit them
via cvs.
greetings
Peter
