Re: Arabic translations?
by Sherif Abdelgawad
We need to get new maintainer based on the team there.
I was handling this but the active team went dead.
If there is someone who would like to take the lead and start again , I will
be happy to transfer moderation of the arabic list to them or be part of
them.
Currently I don't see anyone active.
Sherif

Subject: Arabic translations?
I was forwarded an email from a new translator who says he signed up
for the Arabic Fedora L10n list but there is no activity there:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-trans-ar/
Nothing since July? That looks pretty dead to me. Is there a more
current area that a translator from Saudi Arabia should be using?

Problems sending in translations
by Kjartan Maraas
Hi.
I've been experiencing problems when trying to send in translations via
transifex. For a lot of the projects I get an error when sending the
translation:
We're sorry, but the requested page is currently unavailable.
We're messing around with things internally, and the server had a bit of
a hiccup.
Please try again later.
This happens for authconfig, libuser, system-config-httpd at least. This
is for Norwegian bokmål translations.
Cheers

This isn't working, how can we make it better?
by Richard W.M. Jones
As some translators on this list are aware, I've got a few packages
with unmerged translation bugs going back a long way.
I'd really like translators to be able to contribute translations
directly into my projects, as outlined here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/L10N/FAQ#How_do_I_add_a_module_to_Transife...
and from what I hear from another project where this is done[0] it
seems to work really well.
_However_ neither of the methods described above is suitable for me.
I don't want to change the project hosting to use Fedorahosted, and I
cannot allow ssh access to the hosting machines from anywhere in the
world.
What would really work much better is if transifex could publish a
git[1] repository with a rebasable branch containing the translations
that I could pull. I could track this branch automatically, and merge
the contents in just before a release (resolving any conflicts
myself).
An alternative would be to allow me to rsync the po/ directory (as is
done by translationproject.org[2]).
What do you think?
Rich.

[1] Some of the projects are using Mercurial, but we'll be switching
these over to git real soon.

Are you sure this is what you wanted to do? This commit removes all
existing French translations of relnotes.

If they are fixed, the fixes haven't been pushed to git.
