Website string additions and docs hack
by Ricky Zhou
Hi, those of you in web might have noticed a few last-minute changes to
fedora-web, including some string additions. These are there to handle
link changes on docs.fedoraproject.org. Recently,
docs.fedoraproject.org got updated with a new design/better navigation.
Unfortnuately, it didn't occur to me that it changed some links that are
in strings on the website - sorry about that.
For now, I've added a script build/docs-hack.py which uses sed to
replace old URLs with their new URLs (in the right language) after pages
are built. Soon, we will replace this hack with docs URLs in properly
translatable strings. We have started this process by adding a
data/totranslate.py containing URLs that have translated versions.
Some time after the release, I'm going to add these translated URLs to
the .po files.
The summary for translators is:
You don't really need to take any additional action now - we added some
new strings in data/totranslate.py which we will automatically add
translations to, and that should be it. Thanks for all the F13 website
translatoins, by the way :-)
Thanks,
Ricky

[Fwd: Wiki caching]

Just an FYI, for the release the infrastructure team has enabled a pretty
agressive caching scheme for the wiki. What does this mean? If you make
changes to a wiki page they may not show up for up to an hour. We do this
every release and its usually not a problem. We'll disable this caching
the day after the release. Happy wiking.

Problems with Installation Guide
by Daniel Cabrera
Hi,
Am I the only one having problems submitting translations to this
guide? The few files that I could send, Tx took a long time for doing
it. Most of the time I get: 'Sorry, your file could not be sent
because of an error', or 'page unavailable'.
Another strange thing happens to me is that after pressing the 'send'
(I mean, after a waiting a long time), Tx offers me to open or to
download the .po file (?).
Best regards,
Daniel Cabrera (es)

Fedora Project Pt/Pt_BR wiki pages
by Rui Gouveia
Hi all,
I've read all the messages in this list concerning the topic "Fedora
Project em Português". I want to thank all the good suggestions made by
everyone, specially those made by Paul W. Frields and Rodrigo Padula.
I want to clarify that I'm a co-coordinator of the Tranlation Portuguese
Team. Not the leader :).
I just want to add that we do have a small team for now. So, our
strategy was to concentrate our efforts on the materials used by the
non-tec everyday user in his everyday tasks. This excludes, for now,
many sysadmin and translator stuff. We were forgetting the wiki pages.
My fault.
Just recently have we finished the main website [1], but our translation
does not appear to us. We receive pt_BR no matter how we configure our
browser. That's a strange behavior and I already file a bug report [2] [3].
I have checked all the "*pt*" pages in the wiki, and there's a lot os
stuff in "Pt_BR" (congrats guys) and not so much in "Pt": one important,
one to review and one to delete.
Taking in consideration that Transifex and the websites already use the
"pt" form, if nobody objects, I choose this format, as suggested by Rodrigo.
I will add "[[Category:pt]]" to all the pages reviewed and created.
Is this acceptable?
I'm sending this to the translation and infrastructure lists, for review.
Thanks for your time.
