Self-Introduction: Petr Pisar, Czech
by Petr Pisar
Hello everbody,
I'd like to join Fedora translation effort. My profile follows:
Name: Petr Pisar (Petr Písař in native form)
Login: ppisar
Language: Czech
About Me:
Besides programming skills (free time and on paid base), I have long
term experience with software localazation into Czech language. I'm member
of Czech GNU Translation Project team
<http://translationproject.org/team/cs.html> (bash, coreutils etc.) and
I translate other packages too (e.g. audacious, djview4).
I and the Fedora Project:
I maintain few base system packages (e.g. quota, sharutils) and
co-maintain a lot of perl packages in Fedora. I'd like to improve Czech
localization of some Fedora projects. I aim to `abrt' currently.

A suggestion on PO files in transifex
by Tian Shixiong
Hi everyone,
There are a lot of po files in transifex, and the number is growing.
It's hard to know where the strings of a po file will appear in the
distribution.
For instance, I found some Simplified Chinese translation errors in
Fedora 13 DVD installation -- timezone setting screen and root
password setting screen. But I don't know which po file(s) they belong
to.
So is it possible to add some detailed description for each component,
what are they, where they will appear in the distribution and so on,
so that translators can find the strings they need to translate/fix
more quickly.
Thank you guys :)

Hello everyone.
Just today I've attended a lecture about Fedora's approach to an open source
development and since I was already thinking of contributing to a
development process of some Linux distribution, I decided to give it a try.
I'm a 20-year-old IT student currently looking for an opportunity to make
use of my English and computer skills. I haven't had a chance to gather a
solid work experience yet, however I'd consider myself an advanced Linux
user (~4 years of practical use of Arch Linux & Fedora including some
sysadmining) and this type of work wouldn't be a problem. I have some
experience with programming & scripting in several languages as well (C(++),
ASM, Bash, Perl).
So far I'm interested only in localizing (all sorts of material available).
Thanks for your time, looking forward to hearing from you.

Self-Introduction: Ahmed Samir - Arabic

Hello Everybody,
My name is Ahmed Samir, and this is my Self-Introduction email.

- Language: *Arabic*
- Profession or Student status: *Web developer *
- About You: *Hi, I'm a web designer/developer in my free time, I'm in my
late 20s, and I work full time for NetDNA, LLC. I appreciate OpenSource and
I believe that Operating Systems and their software should be open for the
people to use, it helps with creativity. I took RHEL classes a couple of
years ago, and this is how I got involved with Fedora, and other Linux
Distributions. I'm pretty savvy with computers as I worked as a technician
for a few years. I enjoy reading and listening to music.*
- You and the Fedora Project: *I got introduced to fedora when I took my
RHEL class a couple of years ago. While RHEL was not the OS for a desktop,
and I needed something friendly for a Linux desktop environment, I found
Fedora. I had some experience with it on a server level as a friend of mine
runs Fedora Core on some of his servers, and dealing with the OS was very
simple, I liked it. What is usually a problem for those who don't speak
English is the localization of the OS, it can be a problem for them. And
since Windows does exist in Arabic, maybe linux needs to exist in Arabic
too. This is why I want to help with the translation in my free time.*
