Hi Guys, Why we mantain the transifex translate in our transifex[1], if it have yourself upstream project? Should we remove this project from our infra? Thanks! Introducing myself to Fedora translators

Hello Fedora people! My name is Jesús Franco, alias Tezcatl(or tzk) in many pages out there, because Tezcatlipoca is poor known as brother of Quetzalcoatl and as dark-mage, but that's not fair. He represents the wisdom of the subconscious mind and the older values of humanity. Maybe you has guessed now, i'm from Mexico. I'm GNU/Linux user from 4 years ago and i've done translations for projects like riseup.net and others related to autonomy and security. My work in free software movement has been in workshops of digital inclusion with children and elder people, from fundamentals of ofimatics to introduction to programming for kids with Scratch of MIT. Installfests has not been very appealing to me, but with a friend i've worked in the migration of 2 after-school centres in towns of high levels of margination in Mexico City and Chimalhuacán, State of Mexico. Actually that was done with Ubuntu the last year, but i've discovered Fedora now and i like it very much because his commitment to free software it's more definite. However in the FliSol of this year i'll promote Fedora with a presentation and giving personal guidance and support for the guys and girls who wants give a try to Fedora in the installation area. My goals joining to Fedora translators (Spanish specifically) are 1. supporting the translation of documentation more necessary to let other instructors like me using Fedora in live or online workshops of "digital inclusion" as an approach to the empowering of marginalized communities reducing the "digital breach". 2. Making proposal of correction of sexism in the language of traductions, much more problematic in spanish than in english, i want to believe Fedora has a wise community very proud to be the First to include the better Features in his contributions to the whole open source ecosystem. Finally, i'm sorry for my poor writing abilities in english, i'm not used to translate from spanish to english. More likely from english to my language. Strings not translatable under master-spins-fedoraproject

Hi there, Anyone could please mark some strings as translatable for the main page[1]? We could not translate the short description of each spin on the main page (for example: "A complete, modern desktop built using the K Desktop Environment (KDE).") An other query.. Could you change the picture at the top of the main page, "Explore Fedora's possibilities"[2] as text which could be translated? The same for "Download Now!" button which could be seen for each spin page[3]. And just bellow it, there is another string not translatable... "54K Torrent File for 32-bit PC ISO (698.00 MB)". Last strings found to be not translatable are on the support page[4] - "Creating Spins" section: description of each links are not translatable (eg. "steps to create and use a Live CD"). gathering useful statistics for L10N team

Hello, we would like to help L10N team to increase public participation in its activities. We believe that an important step in achieving that is in rewarding the most active participants with "fame" in different top tens, ladders and charts. Therefore we would like to extend the current Fedora Community website [1] with different statistics regarding user participation in different areas relevant to your team. We have called this project "Fedora Hall of Fame" [2]. This information can then be used in different newsletters (FWN, etc) to praise the best people and motivate the others. The information we hope to receive from you is: 1. What are the most important tools you would like to have tracked? For example it can be your wiki, mailing lists, Bugzilla, Koji, Bodhi, Transifex, packages' source code, and so on. 2. What are the most important characteristics you would like to see gathered? For example: # of wiki edits, # of new bug reports, # of package updates released, etc. Some of our ideas are at [3]. Transifex error (po file not merged)

Hi, I've successfully uploaded a 100% translated po file, but there where some changes on the original one. Hence, my file is not translated at 92%. My problem is that if I want to download it, it appears to be 100% translated. 47 strings are missing. How can I solve this ? To understand me, try to download the french file at [1]. Announcement: Publican 2 released

Publican 2 is finally finished and released. The most significant update is the incorporation of the web-publishing component that was previously used stand-alone by Red Hat internally and, more recently, has been used by the Fedora Documentation Project to build the Fedora documentation suite.[0] With web publishing built in, Publican can handle the whole publication process from raw XML to a live website. The new feature is documented in a new chapter in the Users' Guide.[1] Apart from this major new feature, Publican 2 also includes fixes for several bugs; most notably: xrefs to various elements that didn't work, problems with <indexterms> for translators, and various presentation flaws. No changes are required to documents created with (or updated with) Publican 1.x to make them build in Publican 2. The "publican old2new" command remains available to update documents created with Publican 0.x so that they will build in Publican 2. Publican 2 is not yet available as a Fedora update; however, you can download builds from the Fedora build system (Koji) for testing[1]. If Publican 2 works for you, help make it available for others. Visit the Fedora update system (Bodhi),[2] log in with your Fedora ID, and give positive Karma to the package. Note that if you do not log in to Bodhi, your feedback will not count. I was looking for the F13 install guide at the new docs site [1] but, as there is no Spanish version yet, the site seems to indicate that there is no install-guide at all [2]. Is it possible to have at the left the links to the English version for the untranslated books? So the Fedora documetation list is complete. New users will see untranslated guides in English and would probably want to join us in the translation efforts. What do other language coordinators think? Hi everybody, For a couple of years since we switched to MediaWiki, I've been working with Infrastructure to get a new localization framework set up on the wiki. After trying multiple methods, with none of them working very well, I set up a subpage-based localization system on the wiki today. All of the templates are fully functional as they stand. There is draft documentation available at: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraProject:Translating I'd like translators to look over the documentation and make any suggestions they have.. I've tried to make the process as simple and user-friendly as possible. I hope that this can make translation better for everybody on the wiki.
