Breton group for Fedora
by Fulup Jakez
Hi there,
I'd like to start a group to work on localization of Fedora into Breton
language. I've been active on localization of several software into Breton
since quite some years now (Skype, Translatewiki, Opera, Spip, Breton
locale for Microsoft, proofreading for Thunderbird and Firefox, KDE...).
Can you add Breton language to the list please.
Thanks

thanks a lot Romain!
In order to delete the old teams, we need to empty (delete) their
translations.
I will do it next week after a final check.
Cheers!
Do you consider joining us in Paris for the FUDCon EMEA 2012? :-)

Is the FLSCo running our teams alone?
by Kévin Raymond
Hi there,
We get some requests about creating new teams, changing coordinators,
dealing with maintainers, transifex…
The ones really able to take actions are the FLSCo members[0], right?
We didn't have any election since Spring 2008 (Fedora 9), and I can
read "From time to time, at least once every 3 Fedora releases, the
entire membership of FLSCo will stand for re-election".
You've done lots of work, but there is more do to. There will always
be. If it's fine for you, that works.
Spending lots of time helping new translators and maintainers, I think
that I could help the FLP more by joining the FLSCo. This is more a
request than an application as what I am actually doing does not need
really need an official status (yeah translators, you could help us
all!). I am actually one of the Fedora Project maintainers at
transifex.net, but don't think that I should approve/cancel new team
creation for example. I also try not to do too much, as people start
referring to me for really specific questions, that IMHO only rely to
the FLSCo (like team creation, changing teams coordinator…)
What's your opinion? I am sure many translators don't even know that
we have a steering committee.

Kazakh (kk) language maintainer
by Baurzhan Muftakhidinov
Hello,
I requested Kazakh language team on Transifex.com, and shaiton
pointed me here. So I want to be maintainer for Kazakh language in Fedora.
I seen no activities for Kazakh language in here, so I'll start them.
I have some translating experience (Firefox, Xfce) so I wish to
contribute here too.

[Bug 849515] New: Wrong decimal point separator for many latin-american localizations
by Red Hat Bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=849515
Bug ID: 849515
QA Contact: aalam(a)redhat.com
Severity: urgent
Version: unspecified
Priority: unspecified
CC: piotrdrag(a)gmail.com, trans(a)lists.fedoraproject.org
Assignee: dimitris(a)glezos.com
Summary: Wrong decimal point separator for many latin-american
localizations
Regression: ---
Story Points: ---
Classification: Fedora
OS: Linux
Reporter: arielnmz(a)gmail.com
Type: Bug
Documentation: ---
Hardware: Unspecified
Mount Type: ---
Status: NEW
Component: Other language
Product: Fedora Localization
Description of problem:
Many latin-american countries use the "point" (.) for decimal numbers
separator, not the "comma" (,). I find this urgent because arithmetic
operations return wrong results because they only understand the comma as the
separator.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Fedora 17. es_MX and many other latam localizations (es_XX)
How reproducible:
You can check that under the "Region and Language" section of the control
center, also, the calculator is affected by this (and many other apps)
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to the "Region and Language" configuration GUI
2.Select "Spanish (Mexico)" as the language
3.Select "Mexico" as the format setting
4.You can see that the decimal separator is the "comma"
Actual results:
It uses a comma instead of a point
Expected results:
A point

kashmiri language
by Mohammad Nayeem
Hi,
My name is Mohammad Nayeem Teli and I am Computer Science doctoral student.
I am interested in working on Kashmiri language (Arabic script) translation
for the Fedora project.
I think it is great to be a part of building this OS so that it can reach
more and more people across the globe.
My personal goal for starting this translation is to give access to the
Fedora OS to the people who would want to use the Kashmiri language Arabic
script.
Thanks a lot

languages waiting for approval on transifex
by Alam
Hi
I was looking at fedora page
https://fedora.transifex.com/projects/p/fedora/
and found that few teams are waiting for approval:
Belarusian
Breton
Croatian
Esperanto
Gaelic, Scottish
Irish
Kashmiri
Kazakh
Kirgyz
Kurdish
Malay
Mongolian
Swahili
is there any procedure for approval of this (like send introduction
mail). Also I would like to suggest that if there is request for new
team on transifex, then an automatic mail can be sent on this mailing
list so that other interested people may know about language.
thanks
