Fwd: Are we still translating things?
by Domingo Becker
I saw this thread [1] in devel list (I'm a p.ackager too) and some
developers are having problems with the recent changes to the
translation process.
I still don't know the answer so I post it here in case someone knows
it (perhaps Noriko).
cheers

Subject: Are we still translating things?
To: devel(a)lists.fedoraproject.org
I'd like to add a new Fedora project for translation.
The instructions in the guide at
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/L10N/Guide#How_do_I_add_a_module_to_Transi...
have a link to a page which doesn't exist.
Mail sent to trans(a)lists.fedoraproject.org, from the email address
associated with my Fedora account, basically tell me to go away:
"You are not allowed to post to this mailing list, and your message
has been automatically rejected. If you think that your messages
are being rejected in error, contact the mailing list owner at
trans-owner(a)lists.fedoraproject.org."
Contacting the mailing list owner, as requested, has so far elicited no
response either although it's only been 28 hours or so.
I appreciate there has been something of a storm around the translation
issue, and things may be a little up in the air right now.
But I'd be very grateful if someone could tell me if it's currently
possible to add new projects for translation, or not? And if not, some
idea when it might be possible again (and how to tell, other than to
keep asking).
Thanks.

By default Zanata uses xx-XX (same with Transifex), it would be simple to use
default unless any particular reason to use other format?
Current xx
Recommended xx-XX
For example, Japanese
Current ja
Recommended ja-JP

FUEL GILT Conference 2014!
by Rajesh Ranjan
Hi,
Welcome to the 2nd FUEL GILT Conference - the largest event of FOSS
language technology - its challenges, solutions, best practices and its
conventions. FUEL GILT Conference is all about language technology world,
all about GILT industry - G11N, I18N, L10N, and translation world. The
event is showcase of the efforts of volunteer communities and different
organizations in the field of language technology. This event also tells us
the pain and conflicts of different cultures and languages. All things are
revolved around the language - related to words! We are the worshiper of
words!
So, please mark your calendar - possibly 2nd/3rd week of November 2014. And
the place is Pune, India - culturally one of the most vibrant city of
India! We will announce the final date in about two weeks. Like last year,
the organizers of FUEL GILT Conference are Red Hat and C-DAC GIST! Thanks a
lot to both the organizations for continuous support and helping hand.
FUEL is growing only because of the support of volunteer communities
world-wide and several well known organizations! The power of the event is
the power of collaboration, the power of sharing, the power of
volunteerism! Currently, c.60 language communities are working with the
FUEL Project.
Since 2008, FUEL Project is consistently working with the different
language communities to provide standard linguistic resources eg.
terminologies, style guides, assessment methods etc to the world.
Like last year, please collaborate and cooperate to make the event a huge
success!
Please keep visiting here for more details:

Fedora Magazine
by Noriko Mizumoto
Hi translators!
Many of you might have already known this magazine, while I did not, my
bad :-(
This magazine is not only the best place to catch up what is going on,
but also the best place to disseminate the news happening in FLP/FLTG to
the world!!
If you have anything, please let Matthew know, so that he can include
our news in this magazine.
Matthew,
We are in the 'Stage0'of Move To Zanata plan[1], and would like to have
as many as possible people to come and join the test. We work on this
plan and F21 translation in parallel. The plan page is here [2]. Could
you please include this in the magazine?
