Wiki category: "Language"
by Zdenek Chmelar
Hello all
Some localizations have created Category for their own language like examples below:
- https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Category:Spanish_translations
- https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Category:Italiano
I like it a lot and would like to apply the same for Czech translation. So I added "Category: Czech translation" at the end of translated page on "Overview/cs".
When I clicked on red link of this new Cagegory to create that page, I realized that someone did the same in the past already (see https://fedoraproject.org/w/index.php?title=Category:Czech_translations&a... - there is reported another page "F18_release_announcement/cs" that has the same category).
So here are my questions:
1) Is there any way to see if there is already created some "Category:Czech..." do avoid duplication or mess creation in the wiki?
2) If I have to create new Category for Czech, how to code the category page to get such a nice overview like the examples above have? I checked the code of the pages above but there is no function called or anything else what would generate that overview of translated pages.
Last but not least - if this topic was already heavily discussed in the past, please do not waste your time with explanation "how-to" but let me just know that I have to dig in the archive.
Enjoy your weekend!

Fedora Media Writer - websites
by Robert Mayr
Dear all,
Fedora Media Writer also implied some important changes on the websites, as
it is the primary download option for Workstation from now. I've just
pushed the new source file to zanata, the strings still live in a separate
branch for now, but we are going to merge them into F25-Beta branch
tomorrow or during the weekend.
You will be able to preview the strings in staging and see the context to
find the best translation [1]
Thank you and happy translating.

Some questions related to languages
by Sylvia Sánchez
I had read the files with statistics and now I'm writing the Community Blog
but I'm baffled by some language codes. I guess CS is Czech but am I
right? Also SK and SQ are two codes that i don't know what do they stand
for.
Sorry for the silly question but if anyone can tell me, I'll be able to
finish this part about statistics and add the first interview.
Cheers and thanks,
Sylvia

Can't login on Fedora Wiki pages
by Zdenek Chmelar
Hello all
Since some time I'm not able to log in Fedora Wiki.
I was able to do that in the past because I've created wiki page with my introduction (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/User:Zdenek) back in 2014.
I reset my password in FAS, I can successfully login in FAS but the same login does not work with Wiki.
Can anyone check if my account is not locked or what could be the issue please? I would like to start with Wiki translation but I can't.
Many thanks for your feedback / hints in advance!

Introduction mail
by Buvanesh Kumar
Hi,
I am Buvanesh Kumar from Bangalore. I am currently working at Red Hat India
Pvt Ltd as a System Engineering intern. I also contribute to Fedora QA team
in my spare time. My native language is Tamil. I love open source and my
mother tongue Tamil, so I often like to contribute towards bridging the
gap between technology and my native language. When technology gets
updated, the changes also need to reflect for people using the technology
in their native languages. I always use Tamil as a primary language in my
smartphone, computer. I used to write Tamil poems, I also gave speeches in
Tamil during my school days and won prizes for it 🙂. I am glad to
contribute to the Fedora translation team. I would like to meet and
interact with Tamil translators in the Fedora translation team.

Wiki - L10N Maintainer => L10N Coordinator
by Jean-Baptiste
Hi,
As agreed in August, I edited wiki pages to reflect the name change from
"L10N Maintainer" to "L10N_Coordinator".
I did minor modification (words and added a new role) to
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/L10N
I did minor modification (words) to
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/L10N/Guide
I did major modification https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/L10N_Coordinator
=> I reordered content (first : the role and responsibilities, then
the process)
=> removed outdated stuff and moved it to
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/L10N/Historic%20content (in my todo list,
I also have to clean content related to transifex, some will end up
there so we do not destruct every past content)
Please tell me if it looks better, I'm confident it respect how we
works. Do not hesitate to suggest improvements.
About cleaning, a few teams decided to translate L10N content, please
update your links and content :
* https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/L10N_Maintainer/zh-cn
* https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/L10N_Maintainer/pt
* https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/L10N_Coordinator/es
Please note that translating wiki is very painful, I personally do not
suggest to translate internal team processes.
btw @Italian team, please have a look to this page
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Ruoli_l10n_Italian_Team
Please tell me if it can be deleted or moved to
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/L10N_Italian_Team/Ruoli_l10n_Italian_Team
thank you everyone for your help
