Proposal: Fedora G11N Steering Committee

Hi All, I am sure, most of the people working with Fedora I18N, L10N from 5-6 year must be aware regarding Fedora L10N Steering Committee. [1] As far as i know this committee was active around 2009 and very effective. During Fedora G11N activity day discussions, we again felt there is need for some kind of official committee to drive Fedora Globalization activities. Fedora is growing faster with number of different domains and G11N also need to adapt those changes quickly to remain on the track. For this purpose and in line with [1], we were thinking of Fedora Globalization steering committee. I have created initial proposal for it. [2] Its open for feedback, please feel free to share other active members, discuss in your respective language groups. This is just initial proposal and i am sure, we can improve and make it more effective with active participation. Media writer

On the download page there is a text: "Optionally, you may install Fedora Workstation to a laptop or desktop computer that has at least 1 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM, and 10 GB space available. To do this, run the live version of Fedora Workstation from your USB flash drive on the computer you'd like to install to, run the Fedora Media Writer application, and follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation." https://getfedora.org/en/workstation/download/ Is this correct? Should a user realy boot of Fedora USB live and then start the Fedora Media Writer app to complete installation - of what? To be honest this really is confusing to me.

pt_PT translation bugs in getfedora.org/workstation webpage

Hi to any pt_PT translators out there! I joined a few months ago to help with translating fedora, but unfortunatelly haven't had much time (mental and otherwise) to really help out. Yesterday the beta of F26 was released, and the pre-release page on the getfedora.org in european portuguese has a misspeling and a wrong translation: "Transfira o Fedora - terminal de computador" This is so wrong, "computer terminal"?? I think it should be left untranslated as it's a product's name, but if it's to be translated, it's better "estação de trabalho". "Quando é que a versão 26 do Fedora vai ser lanaçada" . This one is easy to fix, should be "lançada". Eduardo

system-config-printer translations, are they used?

Hi, It seems that the current translations from Fedora "main" group have never hit the s-c-p repo. Example: 1. Got to s-c-p trans;ation page and choose French: https://fedora.zanata.org/iteration/view/system-config-printer/master/lan... 2. Filter the translations by text: "Apply" https://fedora.zanata.org/webtrans/translate?project=system-config-printe... The string is translated (I gues a long-long time ago). 3. Open the repo translation page: https://github.com/zdohnal/system-config-printer/blob/master/po/fr.po#L2388 The string is fuzzy/untranslated (even with updates two months ago). The same applies to German, Spanish, Ukrainian, etc. Does anybody now what is happening with this translation? Can we do something to sync it with our translations for the nex release?
