Another new project! As many of you know, the Fedora Installation Guide is a very big book (about 260 pages in its PDF version). Although this is good for users who need to know about little-used options or who are trying to install Fedora under unusual circumstances, it can be intimidating for most people who just want to download an image file, burn it to CD, and install it on an ordinary desktop or laptop computer. The Installation Quick Start Guide is a response to criticism both from inside and outside the Fedora community and is only a tenth the length of the full Installation Guide. The document is built as much as possible from strings taken from the Installation Guide (and a couple from Readme-Live-Images), to avoid asking translators to work on basically the same material twice. This approach has another advantage: translations from this book can be carried across into the Installation Guide, providing a head start for teams that have not yet attacked that project.
