No Nautilus Scripts
by Clifford Snow
I can not find Scripts in Nautilus 2.4.0-3. I've added scripts to
.gnome2/nautilus-scripts but I don't even get a menu choice for
scripts. (File - Open Scripts...)
Running 9.0.93 Severn
Is this a bug or am I missing some preference?
Thanks,
Clifford Snow

Until all the new infrastructure is in place for the red hat sponsored
fedora...look at submitting to the the repositories at www.fedora.us.
Fedora.us will be merged into the new iteration of the fedora project,
but it will take a little time. Until the merger is complete, if you
want to contribute packages and be a part of maintenance and QA of add
on packages, work with the www.fedora.us group.

how do I get my RPMs added to the list for feodora
by David M. Kaplan
Hi,
I have been maintaining a couple of programs for some time and was
wondering how I could get those RPMs added to the feodora list of
packages. Is there a standard procedure?
Thanks,

what performance that fedora offer?
by Lewi
this day I just download 3 iso severn beta 2, and I'm going to
replace my taroon beta 2 installed in my computer
but what's the big difference between those beta linux,
in the perfomance area, I notice that shrike is more slower than taroon
(I just looked with hdparm and loading time mozilla and openoffice)
taroon have mozilla-1.4 vs shrike mozilla-1.2.1
taroon have openoffice-1.0.2 vs shrike openoffice-1.0.2
with taroon have half time to loading.
is there any perfomance notice in severn perfomance????

Missing module char-major-188
by Charles Curley
I seem to be missing a module from Fedora Beta 2. On boot, I get:
Sep 29 10:26:37 issola modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-188
Sep 29 10:26:41 issola last message repeated 15 times
Sep 29 10:26:42 issola cups: cupsd startup succeeded
in my /var/log/messages.
When I try to use a printer (using cups), I get similar messages.
The printer is defined as a Unix lpd printer, and works from other
machines with appropriate permissions.
However, the zinger is I can't find the package to which it
belongs. If I run:
find mnt/CHARLESC/jukebox/severn.disc*/ -iname *.rpm -print -exec rpm -qlp {} \; | grep char-major-188
I get nothing.

useNoSSLForPackages and other badly-conceived options (notice non-hijacked thread!)
by Paul Gear
As the subject says, i think 'useNoSSLForPackages' is rather badly
conceived. Whenever i see an option that has the word "No" or "Don't"
in it, alarm bells ring in my head.
This is a recipe for confusion. Can we get future versions of the
option renamed to "useSSLForPackages"? (I would make it off by default,
too, since many packages are rather large and some of us still pay a lot
for bandwidth.)
I suppose i should bugzilla this...

A couple of things...
First maybe you should move any test release specific technical issues
to fedora-test mailing list. I'm sure there are some people who cross
read the two lists...but i bet more seasoned testers read fedora-test.
Second have you read the release notes for the test release fully?
Just becuase you have to disable some feature for the installer to work
does not mean those features are disabled for good. Example the Sony
laptop issue as stated in the Release notes. If there is a problem with
the kernel or whatever for your lappy, that prevents the use of these
devices even after install. Not much you can do, except file the
bugreport..follow up on the report with information as requested from
the developer and try any updated kernel(or other packages) that are
created to attempt to fix your problem. If disabling devices for
boot...gets it installed...then do exactly that, then file the bug
reports and wait for bug fixes to roll out for you to test.

Installation Freeze
by Josh Holtzman
I am tring to install fedora on my Sager 4760 laptop, and it freezes
immediately after hitting [enter] during the first step of the install.
I've heard things like disable the USB or Firewire with boot parameters, but
I want to be able to use these devices once linux is installed! Does anyone
have any feedback for getting the installer to actually, well, install?
Thanks,
Josh

Is firewall yes/no really honoured?
by Jos Vos
Hi,
After a fresh Fedore test 2 install I saw the firewall was enabled.
I always choose disable firewall during installs, but of course
I'm now not *100%* sure anymore that I did it also this time.
Anyone else seeing that a firewall is enabled even when choosing
no firewall during installation?
Cheers,
