That helped me on my zd8000. FC3 wav audio worked fine on this laptop, but
it went silent on the "upgrade" to FC4. Looks like this fix ought to go
back into the main tree.

Subject: Installing Gnome 2.12 in Fedora
Hello all!
I found this nice little tutorial on how to install the newest Gnome
2.12 in Fedora Core, it works perfectly! You will definatly notice the
difference from 2.10! Check it out and let me know how it works for you!
http://fedoranews.org/mediawiki/index.php/Upgrade_your_FC4_box_to_the_lat...
Note: I am not taking credit for writing this, nor am I the technical
support for it.
Wow, this is great, it's easy and it works. A bug I had with Nautilus in FC4's Gnome 2.10 is
gone. Plus all the new features. I highly recommend doing this. Next I will do my laptop!!!

Re: ssh & port 22 problem

Hi Jerry,
I looked at your IP to see what kind of router you had.
It appears to be supplied by your ISP, because telnet showed:
Sawtooth Technologies, LLC Stevenson, WA Unauthorized Access is Prohibited
gw-sawtooth.pdx.rain.net 98.10.20-0 For Service Call +1 509 427-4865
Sawtooth Technologies Ether 204.119.0.254 PL/DHGL/109201/ELG 204.119.4.30
So you may need to call them to get the password or to forward port 22
for you.

x86_64 browsers
by Graham Campbell
I am the proud owner of a new dual core AMD 64-bit system and am
fighting to get it into shape to replace my old system. I am currently
fighting the browser plug-in situation. Is there any tutorial,
white-paper or the like that someone can point me to to do this?
Alternatively how do I create a 32-bit browser?

system-config-users 1.2.39 broken?
by Yeaw Chu Lee
Hi!
Has anyone updated *system-config-users-1.2.39-0.fc4.1* recently and found
that adding new groups do not work anymore? The add new users work just
fine... but I can't seem to create AND edit groups. It just showed a grey
out box with a busy cursor all the time.
Or am I the only one with this problem? ... sigh ...
I would appreciate any response. Thanks.

What microsoft has to say about XP
by Dotan Cohen
I think that more people mould move away from WIndows if they read the notices
on the microsoft website:
"The simple act of visiting an Internet site can be extremely damaging to the
system"
from:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/...
Important to note that the article quoted's purpose is to convince the user to
create and use a standard account, and not the system's default Administrator
account. What this means is that the system's default beaviour is to make the
simple act of visiting an internet site extremely damaging to the system. Why
on earth would people use such an OS?

HP Compaq nx6125 touchpad weirdness
by Mika Penttilä
Hi!
I'm seeing weird Synaptics touchpad behavior on the HP Compaq nx6125
with FC4 X86_64 (updated to latest). A tap on the touchpad generates
sometimes Button1, sometimes Button 2 events, I think more often
Button2, which makes it quite difficult to use. Is there something to
tune for this, or is this a known one? Under Windows it seemed to work ok.
Thanks for any input!
