OT: Power Supplies

Does everyone here agree that a 500watt power supply is sufficient enough for a dual MP 1800 board with 4 hard disks, DVDrom, cdrw, dvdrw, and plenty of self powered usb hubs? I'm trying to figure out whats up with my computer and my next stop is to call an electrician. -Matt

I could not find a DVD player as part of the FC3 package. Sorry if I have overlooked an entry. Any recomendations on a DVD player? Greg Ennis

Where does firefox keep its bookmarks? And is it possible to copy them from my linux box to my windows box and have firefox on win2k use the new bookmarks? I am being forced to use win2k at the office for a project but need some of my bookmarks moved over. Thanks!

I'm having trouble booting from the CD

Hello everyone. I have a problem I was hoping someone could help me with. When I try to boot my Fedora CD I get this message ISOLINUX 2.06 2003-08-22 isolinux: disk error 01, AX = 4293, 9F I have no idea what it means or what to do. Any help that someone could give me would be appreciated.

DVD burning - mkisofs max size allowed

Hi list, i'm trying to burn a DVD using k3b, as i usually do for CD burning. I'm using 4,7GB size DVD-R. The problem is that i cannot burn a 4,4GB. file. The file is exactly 4,613,704,668 bytes long. The message i get from k3b is the following: /usr/bin/mkisofs: Value too large for defined data type and then File <file> is too large - ignoring It seems like the problem is the file size, but that file should fit in a DVD, shouldn't it? Is there any limit in the size of files written to DVD? Thanks, Alf

How to autologin as a superuser

hi I am using Linux fedora core 3. How can i autologin as a superuser (root). i am able to autologin as a non-root user but not as a root. i can hande the security issues if i can autologin as a root. so if u know the solution mail me to hvreddy11110(a)gmail.com thanks in advance. I think that more people mould move away from WIndows if they read the notices on the microsoft website: "The simple act of visiting an Internet site can be extremely damaging to the system" from: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en… Important to note that the article quoted's purpose is to convince the user to create and use a standard account, and not the system's default Administrator account. What this means is that the system's default beaviour is to make the simple act of visiting an internet site extremely damaging to the system. Why on earth would people use such an OS?

CD Unmounting Help!!

I'm unable to unmount any cd in the last couple of days. CD's auto or manually mount with no problems. But when I try to unmount get message device is busy. I've gone through processes running in KDE SystemGuard and killed all process showing accessing /dev/hdc, even killed konquerer. I've even changed FSTAB to noauto,ro,users, but to no avail. My systems were working with no issues, 1 is a laptop that has been running fc3 for over 6 months. I'm running KDE 3.3. I don't seem to have this problem in GNOME. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
