Help. Motherboard changed. Everything is fine except eth0.
by Lucélio Gomes de Freitas
Please need advice/help.
FIRST OF ALL:
1 => System got down correctly. Normaly. Right way.
1.1=> Needed to change only motherboard by one 100% compatíble, and HDs are
ok.
PROBLEM(with new motherboard):
2=> Fedora 14 commes ok and in the file "boot messages" generated we have:
All initializations shows:
[ ok ]
but on the "on board" network....
Device eth0 seems not present, delaying initialization. [FAILED]
How to recognize the eth0 on board? There is only this eth0(on board) on
this machine.
Thanks in advance.
Lucélio.

Problem with IPSEC transport
by Luc MAIGNAN
Hi,
I want to establish an IPSEC tunnel between a fedora box and a NETASQ
router.
The router doesn't support AH transport, just ESP.
So I try to disable it by setting :
AH_PROTO=none
in the ifcfg-ipsec0 file.
but it doesn't work !
In the log file, I can see :
pfkey GETSPI succeeded: AH/Transport
8x.xxx.xx.xx[500]->192.168.50.181[500] spi=30486826(0x1d1312a)
Can anyone help me to give me a way to DISABLED the AH proto ?
Best regards

Installed F13 from DVD - Won't Boot
by Oliver Ruebenacker
Hello,
I installed F13 from DVD on a PC with two SCSI hard disks. The F13
partitions (e.g. /boot) seem to be there and look OK, but the BIOS
says there is no operating system. Also, if I try rescue mode from the
DVD and say "boot from local drive", it simply hangs. Any idea?
Thanks!
Take care
Oliver

FC14 module-init-tools fatal error
by Robert Moskowitz
I am installing FC14 on a system that has 503Mb of memory, so I am doing
the install via a ks file. I did a text only install previously to get
the basis for building the ks file and one person here sent me his
anaconda-ks file for guidance on what to add.
So the file module-init-tools-3.11.1-2.fc13.i686.rpm is one of the files
to install and I am getting a fatal error on it. "This could indicate
error when reading the installation media." Well the media is my local
repo server. I downloaded a fresh copy of the file, just incase
something was wrong with the copy I extracted from the DVD iso. Still
the error.
Anyone see anything like this?
There has not been any update to this rpm.

firefox not working with net connection through wireless modem
by souvik.roy@wipro.com
Hi,
I am using wireless broadband modem in Fedora 14. Network manger is
able to detect it. My system is getting an IP on ppp0 and icon on
desktop top is showing that network manager has detected it. But Mozilla
firefox is giving error "Server not found". Though i am able to ping or
nslookup any url from terminal.
Even if i put ip of google server on firefox, it is able to launch the
first page,. It is able to show search result. But it can not launch any
link from that search page. For websites like Yahoo, it is not able
launch the home page also.
I tried with eth0 and lo disabled also, but no use.
Thanks and regards,
Souvik Roy

svn with dyndns
by Paul F. Johnson
Hi,
Has anyone using f14 managed to use dyndns to provide the IP name with
their own svn server?
I've got things set up here for svn, but when I try to connect via
dyndns, it comes back with no route to host. I'm not going through
apache to try and make life easier.
All requests in via tcp:3690 are routed to the server.
I've set things up using the instructions at
http://queens.db.toronto.edu/~nilesh/linux/subversion-howto/ (option 2)
If I try
svn import kickstart svn://127.0.0.1/developer/paul -m "Initial import"
I get asked my password, and life is good. However
svn import kickstart http://devsys-dyndns-server.com/developer/paul -m
"Initial import"
comes back with
svn: OPTIONS of 'http://devsys.dyndns-server.com/developer/paul': Could
not resolve hostname `devsys.dyndns-server.com': Host not found
(http://devsys.dyndns-server.com)
Not sure if this is my router being silly (it looks ok, I have a rule
set for TCP/UDP 3690 to allow traffic in, so the firewall is happy
there). IPTABLES has 3690 tcp/udp also open or if i'm missing a trick
using dyndns - it looks like everything should work
TIA
TTFN

mainstream kernel code contain RT3090 support; why Fedora not include it?
by Franta Hanzlík
Know anyone why Fedora not contain drivers for Ralink RT3090/RT3091/RT3092
PCI/PCIe and USB wireless adapters?
It seems as these are supported in mainstream kernel sources, but Fedora for
any reason not compile them (corresponding symbols CONFIG_RT2800PCI_RT30XX and
CONFIG_RT2800USB_RT30XX are not defined). I found some information from
beginning this year about improper driver support for these device. But now?

Configuration of HP L2045 monitor
by Chris Jones
I have Fedora 14 installed and now discover that between Fedora 12 and
Fedora 14, the resolution of my HP L2045W monitor has changed from
1600x1200 down to 800x600. How do I reconfigure the resolution to 1600x1200?
