F16 security spin, LibreOffice instabilities
by Joel Rees
Lenovo S-100 pseudo-netbook (intel 64 running 32 bit) with Fedora
installed from the F16 Security spin (LXDE) live USB.
Posted earlier, no response, about it generally hanging the X11
session on logout if I switch to a virtual console to do something
while logged in on an X11 session. Can telinit 2 and 5 to get it back
once or twice.
Trying to use LibreOffice, if I open more than one document, quitting
tends to kill the panel, leaving things in an awkward, partially
functioning state. Can keep doing things I don't need the panel for.
I'm sure I need some library for LibreOffice that didn't get picked up
in the dependency check when I installed it. Anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks.

What is virtuoso-t doing?
by Timothy Murphy
When I reboot and login into my Fedora-16/KDE laptop
I see from "top" that virtuoso-t is taking
150$ or more of my CPU.
This lasts for a minute or two,
and results in the boot being very Windows-like,
ie nothing can be done until virtuoso-t calms down.
I think this has only been happening fairly recently.
I certainly don't recall it with older versions of Fedora.
But is virtuoso-t doing something useful
that has to be completed before I can use the laptop?

Issue with reading CD's...
by R. Welsh
Hello,
I have encountered an issue in F16.
Just 3 weeks ago I was able to read audio CD's just fine on either an
internal SATA DVD drive that I have on my system or an external USB DVD
drive.
Just tried to play an audio CD on either drive today and am not getting
data transfer rates that make sense. Example: I copied a 5.2MB MP3
file from the CD to hard drive and this took 45 seconds, whether I am
reading the CD with either DVD drive to either the internal primary hard
drive inside my system or an external hard drive connected to the USB
port. Once a file is transferred to hard drive, the file plays just
fine.
I have tried booting with kernel 3.2.10-3 and kernel 3.3.0-4 and the
same results either way.
I have booted this same set of hardware with Win7 and the DVD drives
work fine.
Can anyone give some guidance on what might be causing an issue?

Is there a UI for /etc/libvirt/qemu/networks
by Sam Varshavchik
I'd like to tweak some of the DHCP settings in /etc/libvirt/qemnu/networks;
specifically assign fixed IP addresses to selected guests. Is there a UI
for this, somewhere, or I just go and edit it, by hand?
