Changing a terminal window' titlebar color
by Fernando Cassia
I remember that in previous versions of Gnome (2.x) it was possible to
change on a per-window basis.
What I'd like to achieve is write a caller bash script that intercepts ssh,
and before a ssh session is started, alters the current terminal window
(caller program) to stand out, to easily differentiate visually between
terminal sessions that are local, and others (say: red titlebar) that are
remote ssh sessions.
Is this doable without hacking the gnome source code?.
TIA

What's with ipv6 in fc17?
by Bill Davidsen
Doesn't seem to know how to route packets. Test environment set up,
machines assigned IP in fe80:: space, DHCP and DNS work, IP gets
assigned, route table shows fe80::/64 going out eth0, but ping6 won't
work unless the interface is specified, ssh say "Invalid argument," etc.
Tried giving a default route, made sure ip firewall was allowing
forwarding (got that from a wiki), etc. No joy, and back in fc13 was was
running a whole site over ipv6 including nfs.
Can't hand that to users, and most of the docs are for old kernels, 2.4
and such. It "just worked" in fc13, what has been "enhanced" to make it
worthless now?
It's definitely a routing thing, because ping6 works when the interface
is forced, and loopback works with ssh and such. One article said you
need to define routes for each site you want to use, using "ip route"
and I assume that's nonsense, there's just some feature which is
disabled to protect the innocent and not clearly documented so people
can feel like gurus knowing.

by Dave Stevens
I bought a red fedora from the Red Hat store a few years ago and now
can't find the URL to order another. Anyone know where I should look?

systemctl question
by Mike Wright
Hi all,
While trying to get vncserver working I found this within
/lib/systemd/system/vncserver@.service file.
/usr/bin/vncserver %i
What is %i?
Can anybody explain from where this syntax derives?
TIA (and befuddled, meanwhile :),

Make ctrl-alt-del invoke gnome-system-monitor instead of gnome logout ?
by Fernando Cassia
How is one supposed to configure keystrokes so Ctrl-Alt-Del invokes
"gnome-system-monitor -p" (process view) instead of the current
behaviour of the logout screen?
Thanks

Syncing with MTP devices
by Patrick O'Callaghan
F16 fully updated.
I've been trying to sync music with my Galaxy Nexus, connected by USB
cable. Fedora recognizes the device, but none of the apps I've tried
will sync to it. So far I've tried:
Amarok: on copying an album, at most a random 2 or 3 tracks succeed,
then the UI freezes for a long time.
Rhythmbox: copying even one track gets an error popup about not being
able to determine free space.
Banshee: can't see the device
Mtpfs (a FUSE filesystem for MTP): can see the phone's file structure
but won't copy anything to it. No errors, just doesn't do anything.
Ironically, one of my reasons for moving from iPhone to Android was the
hope of better Linux support ...

starting konsoles in specific locations
by jonetsu
Hello,
Is it possible at all to start several konsole terminals, each in a
specific location, by means of a script ? I used to do that with
another type of terminal app years ago. I quickly did a search about
konsole and it seems that it does not support standard X parameters
like '-geometry'. is there any way to start konsoles in a specific
size at a specific location (and optionally using a specific name) ?
Thanks for any suggestion.
