list files in %files section of .spec
by arnaud gaboury
I am not sure how I shall lsit my files under the %files section. My
doubt is how deep I shall go in lisiting
direcrories/subdirectories/files.
Below is part of the content of my buildroot
----------------------------------------------------------------
% ls usr/lib64/rstudio-server
bin/ resources/ www-symbolmaps/ INSTALL README.md VERSION
R/ www/ COPYING NOTICE SOURCE
% ls -al usr/lib64/rstudio-server/bin/
total 22M
drwxr-xr-x 1 poisonivy poisonivy 142 Dec 7 08:12 ./
drwxr-xr-x 1 poisonivy poisonivy 144 Dec 7 08:11 ../
drwxr-xr-x 1 poisonivy poisonivy 42 Dec 7 08:11 pandoc/
drwxr-xr-x 1 poisonivy poisonivy 178 Dec 7 08:11 postback/
-rwxr-xr-x 1 poisonivy poisonivy 629 Dec 7 08:09 r-ldpath*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 poisonivy poisonivy 3.3M Dec 7 08:12 rpostback*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 poisonivy poisonivy 4.6M Dec 7 08:12 rserver*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 poisonivy poisonivy 2.8M Dec 7 08:12 rserver-pam*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 poisonivy poisonivy 11M Dec 7 08:12 rsession*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 poisonivy poisonivy 3.1K Dec 7 08:09 rstudio-server*
--------------------------------------------------------------------
What I would do is this:
%files
%{_libdir}/%{name}/bin/pandoc/ <--- dir
%{_libdir}/%{name}/bin/postback/ <---- dir
%{_libdir}/%{name}/bin/r-ldpath <----- file
%{_libdir}/%{name}/bin/rpostback <---- file
etc with all files
Is this correct? pandoc/ and postbac directories only contain files, no subdir.
Why not simply:
%{_libdir}/%{name}/bin/
Thank you for hints.

Can't switch wireless keyboard layout without plugging wired keyboard
by Alex Dzyoba
Ok, so this is a really strange problem and I don't even know where to
dig, where to submit bug or anything.
I had my old Mitsumi USB keyboard that I switched to the shiny new
Logitech K270 wireless keyboard. The thing is that after bootup
keyboard layout switch is not working. Buttons are working, I double
checked with evtest. I tried with Alt+Shift, Right control, Right Alt.
BUT as soon as I plugged my old wired keyboard and switch layout with
it, my new keyboard starts switching layouts like it always was. I can
unplug old keyboard and enjoy layout switching.
I can provide any logs, upgrade or downgrade. I really can't
understand what's happening and where should I go - to X11 devs,
fedora, systemd or Logitech.
Hope somebody can point me to right direction.

Dependencies for Pandas package
by Lain Cortés González
Hi, I'd like to make acknowledge that the Pandas package for Python is
broken, it needs the python(3)-xlrd package, whom isn't being installed as
dependency of Pandas

fedora-review tool: is this hung?
by Ranjan Maitra
Hi,
I have been trying to run fedora-review on a simple bugzilla package review request and it appears to be hung:
$ fedora-review -b 1118885
INFO: Processing bugzilla bug: 1118885

INFO: WARNING: Probably non-rawhide buildroot used. Rawhide should be used for most package reviews
INFO: Build completed

Is this okay: it has been over an hour, and I can not see why this should be so long. This is my first experience using fedora-review and so I am not aware what to expect.
FWIW, I am on a fast connection and a reasonably good machine (i7, etc).

Cups fails with "Filter failed"
by Suvayu Ali
Hi,
I'm trying to print a test page to my new network printer (HP Laserjet
Pro MFP 126nw) but it keeps failing with the message: stopped "Filter
failed".
systemctl says I should look in /var/log/cups/error_log for more
details, but my error_log is empty, and the last modified time is from
last year! So I changed LogLevel to debug in cupsd.conf and restarted
the service. This prints all sorts of debug messages to the journal,
although none to error_log. Strangely enough, the journal still says:
[Job 325] Job stopped due to filter errors; please consult the error_log
file for details.
I have checked all the "common cures" I found on the Internet, size of
/var/spool/cups (<700k for me), device permissions (doesn't apply as I'm
printing over the network). I have always printed over the network (to
other printers), so I'm not sure what is going wrong this time.
Any thoughts what is the problem? Any ideas I could try?
TIA,
