Libreoffice Impress and remote on F27
by Alessio Ciregia
Maybe a little OT, but I would like to know if this is an issue related to
my phone/bluetooth, to Libreoffice or to Fedora 27.
I would like to use Libreoffice Impress remote and the related Android app
[1].
In a nutshell it doesn't work: the app doesn't see the remote Libreoffice
session, even if the PC and the Android phone are paired.
In journalctl the message that appears when I launch Libreoffice Impress is:
Oct 18 16:59:32 host bluetoothd[6358]: RFCOMM server failed for LibreOffice
Impress Remote: rfcomm_bind: Address already in use (98)
Anyone has any experience about it?

Apache 2.4.28 update in Fedora 25
by Chris Kottaridis
Is there an expected date for Apache 2.4.28 to be released for F25?
For F26 Apache 2.4.28 was released earlier this week. Apparently it
fixes a CVE, not a particulalry threatening one actually, and am
getting some pressure here to upgrade to Apache 2.4.28 on my F25
machine. I'd prefer to wait for it to be formally released rather than
just upgrade it independently.
Thanks

system is booting up. see pam_nologin (8)
by Frédéric
Hi,
This morning after booting, I can see the screen of sddm, fine.
But nobody can login from from there.
Going to a terminal, we can see this message:
system is booting up. see pam_nologin (8)
We discovered a /run/nologin file that we had to remove.
The log is provided below.
Any idea what is the cause of that?

libreoffice not working on F26 :: Couldn't find current GLX or EGL
context
by Adrian Sevcenco
Hi! In the wake of imminent release of F27 i upgraded to F26 :)
and libre office no longer starts :
starts with this :
X Error: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) 8
Extension: 153 (Uknown extension)
Minor opcode: 5 (Unknown request)
Resource id: 0xdc00034
X server found. dri2 connection failed!
DRM_IOCTL_I915_GEM_APERTURE failed: Invalid argument
and ends with this :
soffice.bin: Couldn't find current GLX or EGL context.
The thing is that i use Nvidia card (and driver)
glxinfo | head
name of display: :0
display: :0 screen: 0
direct rendering: Yes
server glx vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation
server glx version string: 1.4
server glx extensions:
GLX_ARB_context_flush_control, GLX_ARB_create_context,
GLX_ARB_create_context_profile, GLX_ARB_create_context_robustness,
GLX_ARB_fbconfig_float, GLX_ARB_multisample, GLX_EXT_buffer_age,
GLX_EXT_create_context_es2_profile, GLX_EXT_create_context_es_profile,
with :
akmod-nvidia-384.90-2.fc26.x86_64
and
kmod-nvidia-4.13.5-200.fc26.x86_64-384.90-2.fc26.x86_64
and the acceleration is working ... (so on the nvidia part everything
seems ok)
Have anyone some idea about this?
Thank you!
Adrian

Very minor but very weird
by Jonathan Ryshpan
In the command interpreter (shell) the underline character
(underline_char) generally but not always echos as a space when
actually typed and generally but not always displays as an underline
when produced by the system. For example:
(1) $ echo underline_char
(2) underline_char
the underline echos as a space when actually typed on line (1) but then
changes to an underline when I hit return and line (2) appears. Line
(2) displays properly.
System:
4 processor true-intel CPUs
Fedora-26 with all upgrades
Konsole (KDE) version Version 17.04.1
What's going on? How can it be fixed?

best way to determine the "max" number of files for a drive/partition
by bruce
Hey guys..
Couple of questions. (I'll split them in sep mail msgs..)
1) What's a good/easy/best approach to getting the max possible number
of files for a drive. Isn't the inode count a "good" approximation for
this.
I've got a 30G cloud instance and i'm looking to have a bunch of small
files for a process.
thanks
