seapplet and F28 install
by Geoffrey Leach
I'm doing a fresh install of F28 on a laptop. The install fails immediately due to a failure of seapplet (bugzilla 1565016)
seapplet appears to be involved with trouble SELinux reporting, which strikes me as a rather odd time for that to be a problem. Any thoughts on how to suppress SELinux at that early stage?
Thanks.

DHCPv6 with qemu/kvm
by Ed Greshko
Hi,
I've used virsh to edit my networking configuration as so...
<network>
<name>default</name>
<uuid>b53f97fd-1d87-4352-9da1-bbbf0a9419cf</uuid>
<forward mode='nat'/>
<bridge name='virbr0' stp='on' delay='0'/>

<ip address='192.168.122.1' netmask='255.255.255.0'>

<range start='192.168.122.2' end='192.168.122.254'/>
</dhcp>
</ip>
<ip family='ipv6' address='2001:b030:112f:ff5b:ffff:ffff:ffff:2' prefix='112'>

end='2001:b030:112f:ff5b:ffff:ffff:ffff:2000'/>
</dhcp>
</ip>
</network>
When the host system is booted I get the following for virbr0
virbr0: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1500

But there is no response for the request.
Any ideas of what I may have missed?

language choose menu in slick greeter
by Franta Hanzlík
I just install F28/i686/MATE desktop, and it's login screen has not
menu for language selection. And instead of lightdm-gtk there is slick
greeter.
Know anyone, when it is possible to configure slick for language
selection? Or I should rather switch back to lightdm-gtk?
Thanks, Franta

USB WiFi broken after F27 to F28 upgrade
by Shawn Badger
The USB WiFi adapter was working fine in F27 but after upgrading to F28 I
can not longer connect to the same SSID I was connected to before, or any
for that manner. I am using a Realtek RTL8191SU based adapter that has
worked well for me for years.
NetworkManager just keeps asking for the passphrase like I entered it
wrong. I cleared the saved SSIDs out and when they repopulated I tried it
again but still the same error. I went to the command line to see if it
would give me any addition information and here is what I got:
# nmcli device wifi connect MY_SSID password "MY_PASSPHRASE"
Error: Connection activation failed: (7) Secrets were required, but not
provided.
Then I tried it with go old wpa_supplicant:
# wpa_supplicant -c /etc/wpa_supplicant/badger.conf -i wlp4s0u2
Successfully initialized wpa_supplicant
nl80211: Driver does not support authentication/association or connect
commands
nl80211: deinit ifname=wlp4s0u2 disabled_11b_rates=0
wlp4s0u2: Failed to initialize driver interface
I though maybe it was an issue with the Realtek driver so i broke out my TP
Link adapter that uses a different chipset and found NetworkManger doesn't
even see it.
Did I miss something in my upgrade or settings that changed?

Eclipse update fails
by Howard Howell
Hi everyone,
I have the following message when I select the update function
in Eclipse:
An error occurred while uninstalling
session context was:(profile=SDKProfile,
phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Uninstall,
operand=[R]org.eclipse.platform_root 4.7.2.v20171217-1438 --> null,
action=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.touchpoint.natives.actions.Clean
upzipAction).
Backup of file /usr/lib/eclipse/.eclipseproduct failed.
File that was copied to backup could not be deleted:
/usr/lib/eclipse/.eclipseproduct
I have not used Eclipse for a very long time, but wanted to brush up.
It seems to have changed a lot in the last decade or two, or more
likely I have. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Running F27 on AMD Fx 8300 with 16GB ram AMD Oland graphics Gnome
Version 3.26.2
If any other information will help, please let me know. Last updated
Friday I think. There is an update pending right now for F27.
Regards,
Les H
