Unable to start GeoClue client
by ToddAndMargo
Anyone know how to fix this? The FAQ was zero help.
-T
$ redshift
Trying location provider `geoclue2'...
Using provider `geoclue2'.
Using method `randr'.
Waiting for initial location to become available...
Unable to start GeoClue client:
GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.AccessDenied: 'redshift'
disallowed, no agent for UID 500.
Access to the current location was denied by GeoClue!
Make sure that location services are enabled and that Redshift is permitted
to use location services. See https://github.com/jonls/redshift#faq for more
information.

segmentation fault
by Patrick Dupre
Hello,
I have a fc30 machine that I wanted to update to fc34.
Thus, I first tried to update to fc32.
I followed the instructions in:
https://fedoramagazine.org/upgrading-fedora-31-to-fedora-32/
running
sudo dnf upgrade --refresh
sudo dnf install dnf-plugin-system-upgrade
sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=32
But I got:
Transaction Summary
================================================================================
Install 98 Packages
Upgrade 1638 Packages
Remove 8 Packages
Segmentation fault
What to do under these circumstances?
Thanks

gnome and windows and taskbar?
by ToddAndMargo
Hi All,
I just installed a gnome (Fedora Workstation) in an VM.
I am hainv a bit of trouble wrapping my mind about it.
1) the taskbar only shows "activity" and the current
running program. Where are the rest?
2) I have to click "Activity" to see what programs are
running
3) the current running program takes up the entire
screen, like an Android tablet. I can find no way
to size, move or minimize the current program
4) is this suppose to emulate an Android tablet? One
program at a time?
I am confused,

libnotify and popup arrangement problem with Osmo
by ToddAndMargo
Hi All,
Fedora 34
$ rpm -qa osmo
osmo-0.4.2-2.fc33.x86_64 (prior version)
osmo-0.4.2-2.fc34.x86_64
libnotify-0.7.9-4.fc34.x86_64
As of Fedora 33, when Osmo throws a task popup
with libnotify, I am no longer able to run my
mouse across (no buttons pressed) my task popups
and have them automatically reorganize to the
top right, getting them out of the way. (I have
a lot of tasks going off and some stay in the
middle of my screen.)
I have corresponded with the author of Osmo
and he has made no changes as to how he calls
libnotify.
Is there some missing libnotify configuration that
got overwrote with Fedora 33 that I can fix?
Many thanks,
-T

GW is correct. I recreated the swap partition ($ swapoff -a; $ mkswap;
$ swapon -a) and the problem persisted. Then I examined the full
system log, which goes back to Thu 2020-07-09. There a large number of
entries like
Starting Resume from hibernation using device /dev/mapper/fedora-
swap...
none of which is associated with a delay
However there are no entries like
WARNING: D-Bus notification failed: Transport endpoint is not connected
until 2021-06-30, about a year. After the first one appears, there is
one following each reboot, and each is associated with a delay,
generally, but not always, about 1 minute 28 seconds.
The system was upgraded from Fedora-33 to Fedora-34 on 2021-05-25, so
there may be some connection. I don't see anything on the web about
this kind of error. Can anyone enlighten me.

Why can't I get Swedish keyboard when installing Fedora 34?
by Jon Ingason
I am installing Fedora 34 with "Virtual Manager" but I can't chose
neither Swedish keyboard nor Swedish language. I am using ISO-image
Fedora-Server-netinst-x86_64-34-1.2.iso. But I can chose Danish,
Icelandic or Norwegian.
Why not Swedish?
