The name on that zoom info is also a clue. If it had come from a
fedora/redhat/centos repository it would have a repository indicator
"fc33", "fc34", "el7.<rh/centos>" on the package name. Zoom has
packages available for a range of linux releases available from their
web site, but as with slack, I've not found a repository reference
that can be added to dnf so you need to download their package and do
a local install.

MP3 not working with ezstream on Fedora 33
by Meikel
Hi folks,
I' m running Fedora 33 Xfce and want to stream MP3 files using ezstream
to an icecast server. With streaming OGG files everything works fine,
but with MP3 files I get an error: "ezstream[17605]: stream: default:
format: MP3: This libshout doesn't support the requested option". Maybe
I did install some RPMFusion repos in the past (I don' t remember why)
and that can be useful to get MP3-enabled versions of ezstream/libshout?
Is it possible to get the email-address of the ezstream package
maintainer? With "info ezstream" I get only an URL which seems to be not
specific to the Fedora ezstream package. Any ideas what I can do to
stream MP3? Here my analysis ...
cat /etc/redhat-release
Fedora release 33 (Thirty Three)
ezstream -V
ezstream version 1.0.2
ezstream -vvv -c ezstream.xml

slack.
by home user
Good morning,
I've been asked to join a "Slack" team. I did a "dnf provides slack"
and got nothing. Before I try doing things the hard way (via the Slack
web site), is slack actually not available via dnf, or did I do the
query incorrectly (wrong name?)?
By the way, I see from "dnf provides zoom" that zoom is now available
via dnf.
thanks,
Bill.

unusual error from gzip recently
by Eyal Lebedinsky
As of June I get these errors in my backup log:
gzip: stdin: warning: file timestamp out of range for gzip format
Trouble zipping file, storing uncompressed
I think the first line is the problem, the second is the backup (afio) responding.
I checked my backup logs and the first time this came up (since 2015) is at the end of June on two
f34 machines.
For each file, afio asks gzip to compress it and deliver the result using a pipe back to afio which then
appends it to the backup.
What is the cause of this error? Is there really a file with a bad timestamp or does gzip have
some issues?
So far the only online mention I found is for an old logrotate problem.
I should say that I am running the backup on a live (though quiescent) system I expect to encounter issues.
- Above, I figure that afio still backs up the file, uncompressed, so not a big issue.
- Another situation is when a file is updated while processing. This is a common issue with files that
have data appended regularly, which produces a different error:
gzip: stdin: file size changed while zipping
which I understand and can live with.
This is f34, fully updated.

Change root partition filesystem without reinstall
by Sreyan Chakravarty
Hi,
I am trying to change my root partition from BTRFS to EXT4, but I am
looking for ways to do it without a full reinstall of the OS.
Any suggestions?
Has anyone had any luck with tools like fsarchiver ?
