It's pretty simple. I just adjusted my setup a bit and tested it in a
VM in both UEFI and BIOS modes.
In dhcpd.conf:
option arch code 93 = unsigned integer 16;
In the dhcpd.conf subnet config:
next-server <tftp_IP>;
if option arch = 00:07 {
filename "efi/shim.efi";
} else {
filename "boot/grub2/i386-pc/core.0";
}
Those paths are just where I ended up putting them. (Note that in both
cases you also need the other supporting files in those directories.)
In both efi/grub.cfg and boot/grub2/i386-pc/grub.cfg there is one line:
source grub.cfg
That way both options will load the top-level grub.cfg file. It might
be possible to use a symlink instead or hard link, but this works. Both
methods now load the same grub.cfg file that you can put whatever you
want in. The same commands work in both modes, now that "linuxefi" has
been removed.

systemd timers and amavis quarantine
by Alex
Hi,
There used to be a timer similar to something like
amavis-quarantine-clean.timer that periodically would remove old files
from /var/spool/amavisd/quarantine, but it's nowhere on the system on
fedora35, yet the system is somehow deleting files older than 30 days
from the quarantine still.
Where do I look? It's also not an obvious other timer
$ systemctl list-timers --all

And there's nothing related to a timer service in the package itself.
Other ideas greatly appreciated. Maybe it's not even a timer? I also
don't see any cron entries that are related.

HP laptop and wifi on Fedora 35 fix wifi adapter.
by Cătălin George Feștilă
After the upgrade with F35, I got some errors on wifi.
Now I saw the adapter is not shown but is listed on hardware.
If I press the wifi button then start the airplane mode and is set to on.
How can be fixed?

Incompatibility between webcam and drawing tablet
by Paul Smith
Dear All,
When I plug in my drawing tablet, my webcam does not work; when I
unplug the drawing tablet, the webcam starts to work.
Both devices use USB to connect to the computer.
Could you please direct me in the right direction to the cause of the problem?
Thanks in advance,

OT: laptop SSD(?) makes screeching sounds
by Ranjan Maitra
This is clearly OT, even though I am a loyal user of Fedora since Fedora Core 1, but I thought someone here may have some ideas.
Anyway, I have a Dell XPS 13 (9370) circa 2018 and since this afternoon it has been making screeching sounds, sort of like it is screeching to a new place, then screeching back, and so on. It has a SSD (400-AVHW) so what could it be?
I thought that it may be the battery overheating (because it was bulging too) causing the fan to whir on, so we removed it (and ordered a new one) but the screeching sound is still on.
I am not sure what sort of additional information may be helpful, but am happy to provide.
Thanks very much in advance for any pointers!
Best wishes,
Ranjan

OpenLDAP password history list.
by Kaushal Shriyan
Hi,
Is there a way to retrieve the OpenLDAP password history list
using openldap utilities?
For example to get the history of passwords which a user has used and the
timestamp associated with it when the password has been resetted.
Please guide me. Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Kaushal

scripting Gnome - ?
by lejeczek
Hi guys.
Would you know best, or perhaps just a good way, to script
Gnome, Nautilus/Files specifically?
I'd like to script "bookmarks", which would if possible get
re-created at user login automatically.
All notions shared are much appreciated.
many thanks, L.
